Today, it was something very simple in changing out a headlight bulb for my daughter's car. I've done this before, it's pretty easy to swap out bulbs. The young girl behind the counter was very nice and pulled up specs quickly but it's always easier if you have the old part out. She didn't want to sell me the wrong part and had a staff member go outside and pull it for me. I came in she walked me to through the replacements, which is helpful. Best part ( wait for it) I purchased the part and she had her colleague put it back in for me. It's always the little things that impress me, especially when folks go out of their way to be nice. This is my go to auto parts store ( my favorite).

The woman helping me (didn't quite catch her name) was reluctant to help me. She came out with the device in a bath robe and slippers. She made no effort to help me with my car hood, which I assumed was their job to do since she worked at a car parts store. So, I ended up struggling with my car hood outside the AutoZone for about 15 minutes, right in front of the doors. I think it's needless to say I won't be coming back.

It took a while to get the employees' attention because one was on the phone forever, and the other was in the back looking for items on the inventory shelves. The counter employees were still there, and pretended they didn't see me until I knocked on the door. Then they shrugged their shoulders and refused to honor their business hours. I had planned on spending several hundred dollars on chemicals, so I went down the street to o'reilly's and spent it there instead. I won't be back, since they can't even stay open during operating hours I expect they won't be in business much longer anyway. Edit: the guy who looks like Jerry Garcia is the asshole who shrugged his shoulders rather than take $200 of my money. Management, if you're reading this: this is why your business isn't profitable.

They work on old cars which my Corolla wagon is 1995, and they replaced a valve cover gasket for me for $150 last year. Later, the owner Andy (aka AJ) helped me find a used 22R engine for my 1982 Toyota Sunrader RV, and later, a hood. Both those were located in LA. Then after I bought the motor, Andy bought my no good 22R engine that his neighbor took out. My hood got all rusted out from being exposed to the ocean dew for only a year. Andy looked up something for me on ChatGPT, which I at that time last year, never heard of. Now I can thank Andy for introducing me to ChaptGPT, because I chat with Chat every single day. Andy also introduced me to a "really cheap, REALLY cheap!" (those are Andy's exact words) mechanic across the street that put in the used 22R motor I bought for $850 labor. Andy said he uses that mechanic sometimes too, for his own car. I wrote separate 5 star review about that business, too. Here is picture of my 1982 Toyota Sunrader that Andy helped me find parts for.
