This is neither a positive or negative review. Rather, a buyer just be careful review.
Developed a serious miss in my F150. Took it to a shop, they said it was transmission trouble (although IMO, the transmission was working fine but being affected by the "miss") and suggested Transmission Plus.
The owner came over, followed me to his shop where we left my vehicle. The owner was even nice enough to give me a ride home.
They jumped right on a diagnosis. Said bands broken, rebuild, etc. Also needed a driveshaft main bearing. I knew that there was a vibration at around 60 mph and I had suspected for some time that it needed a bearing replaced.
OK..I'll take your word for it and after an exchange of pricing and time frame, the transmission was rebuilt, bearing replaced.
Cost: almost $2600.
BUT, the "miss" was still there and needed another $400 or so of repair.
I bought the items needed to do that repair and took the vehicle to another shop.
The vehicle was repaired and the "miss" was gone with $60 worth of parts and another $200 of labor.
I have since moved to another city.
Meanwhile, the transmission does not engage into PARK properly and is subject to rolling. I have to remember to set the parking brake as a just in case,.
First time I encountered this I had parked in a space in a shopping center parking lot. When I returned, the vehicle was parked between rows. I wasn't sure that perhaps I had been negligent in where I thought I had parked.
But this has occurred numerous times since, once after I had forgotten to set the brake, climbed out, locked the door and started to walk away. Had to be quick about opening the door and setting the brake before it rolled into another car.
And, the vibration at 60 mph is still there.
Anyway, like I said, no real negativity here. Did the transmission actually need rebuilt? Were the services actually rendered? I did not ask to see old parts. Who knows. I like to think so and that I now have a transmission that will last a lifetime. Obviously I'll have to spend a few bux to get the linkage adjusted since I'm no longer in the neighborhood for warranty service.
