I am sorry that unhappy people find it necessary to leave such long negative reviews…read more Every member of my household has been a patient at Family Physicians at one time or another during the last 20 years. My mother was a patient there until she was 92 . My husband and I have been patients there since 1999. My dear friend and our foster son both used the same offices while each of them lived with us. We have dealt with Drs. Daniel and Tamara Clang, Dr. Nwizu, Dr. Haskins, Dr Stoddard, and more. We have been comfortable and were treated with respect. We have confidence that these professionals have our best interest at heart and know much more than we do about medicine. I am not saying that I don't ask questions at times. I do, because I think that is an important part of working with our physicians. I realize that anyone can have an uncomfortable experience in a medical office. After all who really wants to be there anyway. Please do not let one negative review or experience carry too much weight in your decision about a place to take a loved on or yourself for health care.

Just fyi. They are emailing paperwork beforehand to complete so that is nice. Be sure to put an email on file. They also do a text and phone reminder of appointments. You go in and check in. They are generally pretty prompt in getting you back. They are currently still taking a temp before taking you back. Dr Junker went through my medical history beforehand since i had not seen her. She seemed intuitive and asked a lot of good questions. She was very thorough. I appreciated the level of care. She also ran some bloodwork that hadn't been done before but she thought was good to check since i am vegan and have some autoimmune issues. I appreciated the thoroughness.

When I arrived for my visit the front desk collected my $125. Now *five* months later I get a bill for an additional $105!!! When I called to complain I was told that the $125 was only a "down payment"! And that their people were supposed to have informed me of this (they didn't). I was further told that they "can't do anything about it"... but they are sorry their staff didn't tell me that the $125 was only a down payment. They are outright lying. This is all a scheme to squeeze additional cash out of patients who have already paid. Whoever heard of a business that quotes a price for a service that is only a down payment? These people are sleazier than an unlicensed out-of-town roofing contractor after a hail storm. Stay away!!!!

I went to Synapse and met with Elena Estanol a few years ago and was told that I needed to sign a…read morecontract. And, if I paid up front I would save money. Out of desperation I signed and paid for her program about mindful eating along with therapy. During that time several of her employees quit and she said her husband would fill in where someone who was helping me was no longer available. I was upset because I didn't sign up for her husband, who wasn't even licensed. When I asked to get a copy of my contract I was refused. I should have copied the contract before I signed it, however why they wouldn't give me a copy was curious. Elena also traveled a lot which I was unaware of when I signed up. Therefore, our meetings weren't on a regular basis. Since leaving Synapse, I have found WW which really works for me and doesn't cost several thousand dollars. The amount of money I spent and how it turned out with Elena still upsets me. I feel like it was more of a business deal with her than the therapy I was looking for.

Jessie is amazing. She is very generous and felt like a guadian throughout my labor experience,…read moreespecially while at the hospital. She was there when we needed her to be, she did not have an "agenda" but was always able to assist in the right way. She is very calm and easy to get along with, while being assertive and knowledgable about a varity of labor choices, I felt safe with her. She focused on movement based labor, which was fun and distracted me away from the intensity of surges (contractions) even though I had a long labor! She was also very comforting and helpful for my husband allowing him to focus on being emotionally supportive of me throughout, letting her guide different labor movements. Her two visits prior to our labor were very informative and empowering for us going in to having a child--we went in to the labor experience feeling confident in the notion that "my body is meant to do this". We went over various resting and active positons and expercises during our early meetings and talked about the few routes our birth plan might go, so that we could be flexible if we needed to change anything--and still have a natural birth! We had one post-partum visit with her which was great to decompress the birth experience with her, she brougth photos, and our son's birthstory in great detail--priceless. Highly recommend her for others wanting to have a doula at their brith. --KT
