Under normal circumstances, my parents would take a taxi from the airport and it wouldn't be a huge concern for me, but with the COVID pandemic, I was especially worried and preferred to have them travel in a larger car with more space between them and the driver. Unfortunately, I didn't think of the idea until an HOUR before their expected arrival, I frantically searched and called 6 limo services and even the Montreal airport info desk. They were all busy, already had limited drivers due to the pandemic, or didn't even answer that was until I reached Mimo Limousine! Nash, the owner of Mimo, answered and was immediately understanding, accommodating, prompt, and polite. He had no problem finding a driver, getting to the airport on such short notice and even had a "meet and greet" service where Robert (the designated driver) held a personalized sign at the luggage/customs door for my parents to see. The car was clean and big, and although I would have preferred a car with a divider, my parents found it very spacious and my mom chatted with Robert the whole way back. My parents do not speak French very well, so it was fantastic that Robert is bilingual. Since my parents don't have a mobile phone, another aspect that I was very happy with was that I was texted that my parents had been picked up. It was a big relief that things turned out better than I had expected! The end total (+ tax and tips) came out to be CAD$162. It was a bit pricey for a ride to Westmount, but I am very happy with the overall process and service.

This is a Superb limousine and car service company in Montreal. I needed to arrange two transfers…read morein a snow-worthy SUV for my teenage son from a downtown Montreal Hotel and a Mont Tremblant Ski Resort and a return ride from Mont Tremblant back to YUL. Usually I stay at five star luxury hotels (and fly first class) and I always have the concierge arrange all my limousine and airport transfers so I can be assured of two things: 1. Absolute reliability because the hotel (and its business/reputation) is on the line. 2. Bespoke service and state of the art fleet of cars. As a consequence, I get what I want at a premium price. This time, a made the very smart decision to contact Mimo Limousine and deal with Nash, the consummate professional, directly. First of all, the service was prompt and courteous and incredibly professional. All my questions about pricing, types of vehicles, estimated travel times were answered immediately and professionally. These were rather expensive rides as the distance was significant and travel time exceeded two hours. However, if I had used the services of a five star hotel (think Four Seasons), the price was about 35% - 40% more. I cannot overstate how reliable the service was: I cannot tolerate tardiness and the drivers were early. Safety comes first with Nash and his clients and he makes it clear how important that is. Since the two plus hour ride was straight up into the mountains, this was a relief. After all, my son was the sole occupant in his way to a skiing holiday with his university buddies. The really nice part about Mimo and Nash personally: he stayed in contact with me so I could relax: he texted me when my son was en route, he texted me when my son arrived at his destination. (This way I didn't have to text my son to know he'd arrived, etc). Nash also provided my son with the driver's info so they could communicate. Nash was patient, kept all his promises and charged a fair price for excellent service. Please, do yourselves a favor if you always travel premium class, and use Mimo for any of your ground transportation needs in Montreal and its environs.

However, some of it is sketchy like the first place that I lived at was suppose to be 30 minutes away, but it ended up being 60 minutes away by train. Then, the description said it was a townhouse, but it was more of a small three bedroom apartment with 1 and a half bedroom. Also, the food was okay where I stayed at and got to eat out a couple of times and my host was very nice. However, one of the guys I lived with well he was loud and they had complaints already and did not give me the warnings. Rosalie just wanted the money. Anyways she did move me out into another place and the other place was not as good as it was dirty and filthy and they hardly cleaned up the place with a bunch of other students. My new host had a maid, but only did the laundry. Unfortunately, the hosts complained with the amount of clothes needed to be washed, but I gave them the money to do my load. The bathroom was never cleaned as I had to clean it. Another drawback is three months payment in advance and not monthly. So be prepared to shell out $2400 Canadian dollars. I would no recommend this at all.

We were given a…read morecar, and 1 hour into our trip got a "flat tire" - the tire ripped to shreds despite our driver not hitting anything. We were then told that Avis would pay us back to get a new tire (as we were too far from any Avis location), but one month has passed and we have not been refunded. Not only that, but there are somehow no records of all our phone calls and communications over the past month with any Avis employees, despite being in contact with them regarding the reimbursement! The staff during this entire ordeal have been completely and utterly unsympathetic, and even rude at times. The manager of the store at the Papineau location in particular did not care at all about helping us with our difficulties, and even yelled once over the phone. Needless to say, I will never be renting from Avis again. If you don't want to be short hundreds of dollars and have wasted hours of your life to a company that does not care about your opinion as a customer, I would think twice about renting Avis, too.

The guy greeted my boyfriend by his first name (remembering from the phone call a few hours earlier), checked us in, showed us around, and made sure we were good. The room was surprisingly nice, with windows looking out front. It was just under $80 for the two of us to have a private room. Given that this was my first hostel experience, I was quite pleased and made me think again about my thoughts on hostels. The only somewhat negative thing I have to say is that because it's an old building, the windows aren't insulated and you can hear everything going on outside on the street, and also it gets a little chilly in the room. And the walls are thin and you can also hear everyone else in their rooms/common area, so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. But, quiet time is after 11 and everyone seemed to abide by that.

The first thing you notice as you walk up the stairs to the hostel is the homey atmosphere of the place. It actually feels like a home - the tiny kitchen with the wooden cupboards and drawers, the "chill room" with the musical instruments, and curtains just hanging in the 22 bed dorm. The place is kept very clean and tidy. The crowd of people who stay there were also pretty awesome. Some people were playing the instruments, others were playing card games, while others were cooking up delicious meals. It's a great place to meet some people to chill out and/or to explore the city together. The staff were also very friendly and approachable. They don't actually have 24hr reception there though, but they leave instructions in front of the door so you can get in the house any time of the day. The hostel was located right in the heart of the Old Port of Montreal, where most of the tourist attractions there. The Old Port is a gorgeous place to wander about at night. One bad thing is that the Internet was extremely slow when I was there (and it didn't work half the time), but this is something they may have fixed since then. There is also a pretty decent coffee shop down the road with Internet, so it's really not a big deal.

Booking ref # QDVS2A Be very wary about using SPS TRAVEL…read more I am a frequent global traveller, never have complained in the past as I know travel can have its moments that are beyond the help of a travel agent. But this is plain simple incompetence and inexperience by SPS TRAVEL Montreal that I felt compelled to write about as I class this as one of the worse booking / itinerary experience in my entire life thanks to SPS TRAVEL MONTREAL. . The fault in this trip lay purely at the feet of inexperience and ignorance, a trip that usually would take 20 to 22 hours took THREE DAYS flying from Sydney to Val-D'or Quebec The trip from Sydney to Vancouver 15 hours a connecting domestic flight from Vancouver to Montreal took 4.5 hours and then a connecting flight to Val-D'or 1.10 hours. Looking on line, this can be done concurrently. But not with an inexperienced team at SPS TRAVEL Montreal ...check this out: I arrived in Montreal worn out from a 20 hour flight, usual airport drama and transfers late in the evening running to the check in counter to book the last part of the trip only to find that the flight from Montreal to Val-D o'r was pre-booked for the following EVENING FOR GODS SAKE!! That meant overnight in Montreal with NO ACCOMODATION booked or indication in my itinerary from SPS TRAVEL that I needed to book accommodation, I was left to find my own accommodation for the night. If that wasn't bad enough that I had no accommodation and couldn't reach SPS TRAVEL (through their emergency number) by phone, they had me flying out the next day LATE IN THE EVENING ( 6: 45pm) for a one hour flight to my final destination (planes flying back and forth all day). So an entire day lame with no place to wait except the airport all because of pre-booked itinerary from SPS TRAVEL...I finally made it to Val-Do'r shattered! If that wasn't bad enough the return itinerary was also a nightmare: They had me flying out of Val-Do'r Late in the evening AGAIN and yes, you guessed it, after hanging around Val-Do'r all day with no vehicle, the buggars had me overnight in Montreal (only an hour flight away) again...and again with no accommodation booked at all!!! I Tried to change the booking but wasn't able to do so directly because it had been pre-booked through these incompetent idiots. I called them from Val-Di'or airport at a phone booth while waiting in a queue to check in and finally got a hold of Ismail Ibrahim (whose name was at the bottom of the itinerary) who was absolutely no help at all, in fact down right arrogant and couldn't give a toss who first tried to "shift blame" saying that it was a colleague who did the booking then proceeded to tell me it was my fault for not re-checking the booking!!! So he was blaming ME the customer! But aren't you supposed to be the "so called" experts in travel??? In the end my name was called I had to run...(by the way, I told him I was late getting to plane but he insisted trying to clear his name...how good is that) At the counter in Val-D'or the check in said it is the worse flight pattern he has ever seen and the word "incompetent" was used. NOW...If the above wasn't bad enough...they had me overnight in Montreal AGAIN!!! And again with no accommodation booked or indicated on a very messy itinerary that was half English and half French latish at night. So it was rushing to find another night (at my expense again) Racing to the airport in Montreal thinking I had a 10.20 am flight out...you guessed it , flight time 7.oopm that nigh...that's an 11 hour wait in the bloody airport before the plane flies out to Vancouver. You are not a travel agent...you are hangmen at a noose who daily sentence innocent people to death by your stupidity, arrogance and incompetence. You should close shop and take lessons on how to book flights, how to make connecting flights work, how to look after clients in a time of real need. What do you think I should do ?
