First and foremost, the place appeared to be clean and tidy. The ambiance inside the massage room itself was relaxing and inviting. However, if you have any apprehension about good communication, this might not be a good fit for you. I had some level of difficulty communicating with the masseuse that greeted me which was also the one who provided the service. Please note, that as others have stated, the gratuity is expected not just suggested. I was asked what I wanted to tip at the end of my session and when I offered 15 dollars which I found fair (tipping is always based on satisfaction of services not demanded), she said, read the sign! The sign which states gratuity is 20-30 per service!!! The massage itself was too intense for my taste. I had to remind her on multiple occasions that it was too much. Also, I was not aware (my bad perhaps) that "Swedish" entailed her walking on my back!! I wasn't ready for that or the very hot towel that she placed on my back toward the end without warning. This past semester of school was extremely busy and demanding, so by mid March, I was on the verge of a stress meltdown. My husband suggested I call Jovita because I enjoyed her massage so much last time. I took his advice and called on a Thursday morning, expecting to get an appointment for the following day. However, Jovita's sister blew me away by offering me times later that day! She was so kind to ask about my needs and allowed me to choose an evening time so I wouldn't feel rushed. They are such thoughtful people! I walked in for my appointment that day and Jovita recognized me right away. She is so personable! The moment I laid down the stress started to melt away, even before the massage started! 90 minutes later and I was in heaven. She and her sister were kind enough to ask me about how school was going and invited me to come back at the end of the semester, before graduation. Well, that was the appointment I had this morning - and again, it was absolutely dreamy. The first thing I noticed was the lavender oil on the headrest, which really helps me chill out. Jovita was awesome, as I knew she would be, and my 90 minute massage simply went too fast! Another lady was her and she said she has been coming regularly, so I was glad. There are polite workers that greet you coming and going including Mr. Kerry himself. The last time I came unannounced he worked on my pedicure and reflexology, and offered cold water. (When I ordered a pedicure, I wondered why it was $35 ... he gave me a deluxe which is more, so I had to cut down on my foot massage time. Make sure you're specific when you order. I wasn't offered a menu so I didn't know). Mr. Kerry was gentle and meticulous with the scrub (bringing the water to my feet) and the cuticles. My legs and feet are so soft. They allow you to bring your own polish, and they have a professional shaking machine so your polish is even all the way. He does the hot stone with essential oils, lotion with hot towel method for the legs, and paraffin wax for the feet. The massage is more like the pulling and slapping method, and it is very effective as well. I was able to walk home with no problem. I would come back and try their foot detox system.
