Similar to other tram stations on the Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe, Claraplatz is a street-level station. It is harder to miss than other stations as there are a couple of shelters here that provide some minimal protection. You'll find the ticket machines in the shelter. They accept coins, notes and cards. It's easier on the app.
The station has multiple lines with the 1, 2, 6, 8, 14, 15, 16 and 17 tram lines on Clarastrasse and Rebgasse. City buses also stop here.
The plaza is quite busy with pedestrians and vehicles at all times. Restaurants, bars, retail shopping and supermarket groceries are here. A kiosk news stand is open during the day time with magazines. The Roman Catholic Clarakirche is on one corner.
Look for the green Pyrometer on the corner in front of the Burgermeister.
