This will be a somewhat biased review. Why? Because I work here and I love libraries…read more Trails Regional Library-Lexington, has a lot to offer. It not only has a large collection, but it also promotes literacy throughout the community of Lexington. The library is striving to challenge the stereotype that libraries are boring, dusty buildings filled with old people. The current staff at the library push new technologies that benefit their patrons (eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, free Wi-fi, the use of Evergreen to create an open catalog system) and try to hold programs that interest a variety of people. Programs the library has held in 2011: Adults: Political Round-table Talks, Card Making with the Cricut classes, Green Ideas Workshops, Adult "Lunch-time" Book Club, Adult Summer Reading Program, 19th Century Rugs w/ author Maggie Bonanomi, Recycled Art Demonstrations, Computer 101/Basic Internet/Email 101 classes Teens: Book Spine Poetry, Anime Afternoon, Halo Tournament, Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament, Madden Tournament, International Film Festival, Teens Travel: Japan, We Play Wii Afternoon, Movie Morning, Soap Making School Age Children: Passport World Cultures Program, Lets Eat!, Explore Russia, Wii Afternoon, Arts and Crafts Afternoon, Woodland Adventure Story Time, Wings of Love Bird Show, Brian Wendling: Juggler and Entertainer Preschool: Preschool Story Time (every Wednesday @ 10:00), special story time's throughout the year The library is an integral part of the community and goes out of its way to accommodate its patrons! You should definitely stop to say hello, we would love to meet you!
