She was unprepared for the appointment as she hadn't reviewed the paperwork I dropped off ( she didn't even know it was at her office). She quickly found the paperwork and reviewed it. About a quarter way into our conversation she received a call she had to take . She did not go over any options with me about my incident, but gave me only one option. My entire appointment lasted a half hour ( I paid for an hour). I reluctantly took her advice, only to find out a month later I did have other options, but it was too late. I had already signed a contract for the sale of my mother's home. I would look at alternatives in the future if I ever need advice concerning elder law.

I have benefited from her high quality services in three ways. She is my backup for a durable medical power of attorney. Should I need someone to take care of me, and my wife is unable to help me, Kathleen will know someone competent, kind, and reasonably priced that can. I was extremely manic for three years. My judgment was so poor that I was assigned a guardian and a conservator. I finally found a psychiatrist that was able to successfully treat my mania with Seroquel. Kathleen suggested I have a neuropsychological evaluation administered by a specialist in Massachusetts. All my limitations were mild. Three friends that know me very well wrote affidavits testifying that I no longer have any mental problems. Kathleen took the matter to probate court. She was sharp and quick thinking in front of the judge and the other attorney, and I no longer am required to have a guardian. Then, she appealed my legal need for a conservator, and was again successful. The judge saw no need for a court hearing. I have always found her extremely competent, and her charges were very reasonable. Her invoices showed everything she has done for my case, and the amount of time taken, to the nearest tenth of an hour. Deb Polley, her office manager, was also efficient and helpful. Kathleen has had another, less experienced elder law attorney working with her for four years. She can also handle wills, trusts and estates. I would recommend her very highly. On a human scale I felt the support and understanding from my council. It's a very friendly setting while professional all the way.

I had a very poor experience with this firm and strongly encourage others to seek out other firms…read more I felt that there was a strong bias against men and men's rights in family matters. This seemed to be a culture engrained in the attorneys and staff at the firm. It felt to me like we were immersed in the 1980's in terms of their views on divorce, custody, and parental rights. Legal matters are stressful and difficult enough to deal with. You shouldn't have to feel like you are enduring additional persecution and biases from your own representation. The other major issue I had with the firm was their billing. It really felt as though they had no interest in solving my case quickly and sought to draw things out as much as possible. In fact, the judge in my case cited in his ruling that the attorney's fees for the other side were excessive (my fees from Andrucki and King were even more than hers but my fees weren't put in front of the judge for his comment- so, draw your own conclusions). The discovery process was a disaster with having to provide the same documents repeatedly and be billed for their review. I was actually called by Ms. Andrucki and asked to email a document that I had already provided and was in my file. When questioned about this and her billing me to call to request this, she told me it "was actually cheaper for me to have her call me and ask me to resend it then to pay her for her time to search through my file to find it." Again, I would seek representation elsewhere.
