TracFone provide inexpensive servers if you don't use your phone very much. One drawback is if you purchase a phone from TracFone they don't have very much space, they only sell phone with 60 GB or less, by the time you loaded all your apps you ran out of space. furthermore, you cannot use your phone if you're outside the US and if you need to use your phone outside the US you need to have your phone unlock, even if you met all the criteria, getting TracFone to unlock your phone is harder than pulling teeth. I experienced this recently. I need them to unlock my phone so that I can use my phone when I'm outside the country with a foreign Sim card, after reaching the tech-support, they keep telling me that my phone was not purchased from them, after 15 to 20 minutes of conversation and insist to speak to a supervisor. They finally transferred me to the unlock department. Again having the same conversation trying to tell them that this phone was purchased from them after 10 to 15 minute conversation. They finally tried to check if this is actually their phone, otherwise they trying to get you to get off the phone and not giving you service at all. I have to reiterate it's their phone, and they finally acknowledge it was purchased from them, then they trying to tell me that I haven't met all the criteria, I have to keep reiterate that the phone had met all the criteria. I purchased it two years ago and it was in-service continuously for two years, therefore, they need to unlock it for me, then they finally sent some kind of request to someone else asking if this phone should be unlocked and waited for another couple minutes they finally said yes the confirmation is they can unlock the phone and it will be unlock in four days. The key be consistent or they try to brush you off and not giving you the lock of the phone. DON'T buy a phone from TracFone if you want them to unlock it for you in the future! read more
