Their reservation site even says there are limited spectator carts available, but spectators were shut down at the pro shop and told there were no carts available. It was obvious to anyone who has any experience with a well run golf course that there were carts available. The two pro shop guys, however, stubbornly stuck to their story that there weren't any. Additionally, the players were harassed by the course Marshall to hurry up their pace of play as they were falling a few minutes behind what the course believed the pace should be. The groups being harassed were waiting for the groups in front of them on every hole, so speeding up the pace would have been impossible. This is completely unnecessary and unprofessional behavior by a representative of a golf course holding a collegiate tournament. Eddie Haskell and Beaver Cleaver in the pro shop need to dial back on the spray tanning as the chemicals have clearly killed off brain cells. Those two couldn't problem solve their way out of a wet paper bag. What they lacked in ability to think outside the box, they sure made up for in being condescending and stubborn. I will not only never play this course, but will recommend friends and family avoid it as well. I would be shocked if the NCCGA ever uses this course for a future tournament.

Congratulations to K.H. Lee for winning the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson at the tournament's new site…read morethis year at TPC Craig Ranch in the northeast Dallas suburb of McKinney. Lee became the second Korean in a row to win this event. Sung Kang won in 2019. The tournament wasn't held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lee and Kang joined Sang-moon Bae, who won in 2013, as three Koreans to win the AT&T Byron Nelson in the last eight times the tournament was staged. Over that stretch, Australian Steven Bowditch and Spaniard Sergio Garcia won in 2015 and 2016, respectively, with Americans Brendon Todd (2014), Billy Horschel (2017), and Aaron Wise (2018) covering the other years. Speaking of the @originalwiseguy (that's Wise's handle on Instagram), one of the more infamous incidents that happened to an AT&T Byron Nelson champion was when Wise went in for a kiss with his girlfriend on live TV and got rejected: https://twitter.com/BJCunningham22/status/998376522938568704. It's all good though, at least, as far as we know: https://golf.com/news/aaron-wise-explains-funny-moment-during-viral-18th-hole-embrace-with-girlfriend/. I ended up meeting Wise when he qualified for the Tour Championship in Atlanta that same year (2018). This used to be the old Dallas Open. The first tournament was held in 1944 and won by Byron Nelson. Beginning in 1968, the tournament began using Texas-native's name in its title. This is one of four official Tour events officially associated with a golf legend. The other three are the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Memorial Tournament (Jack Nicklaus), and the Genesis Invitational (Tiger Woods). The API, Memorial, and Genesis Invitational are slightly higher in status than the AT&T Byron Nelson. For example, those three tournaments are invitationals with slightly smaller and more selective fields. The Byron Nelson is a "regular" Tour event with standard qualifying. Also, as of 2021, those three tournaments award 550 FedEx Cup points to the winner. The Byron Nelson awards the standard 500 points. Finally, the API and Memorial award three-year Tour exemptions as opposed to the standard two years that this tournament awards. All that said, outside of the majors, The Players Championship, WGC (World Golf Championships) events, FedEx Cup playoff events, the aforementioned invitationals, and the CJ Cup (okay, that *is* 14 tournaments; the Tour schedule is just packed), as of 2021, the AT&T Bryon Nelson is tied with the Wells Fargo Championship with the highest purse at $8.1 million. It's good money, especially for the caliber of field that has typically competed in this event, certainly in recent years. The fields at the AT&T Byron Nelson typically don't include a lot of the biggest names, mainly because this event immediately precedes the PGA Championship. Previously, it was the event that immediately followed The Players. The AT&T Byron Nelson supports the Momentous Institute. Since aligning itself with Byron Nelson in 1968, the tournament has raised $167 million for the institute which "exists to build and repair social emotional health with children, families, and communities." Of all the tournaments on Tour, I believe the Byron Nelson has raised more funds for charitable causes than any other tournament. For more info on this great cause, visit http://www.attbyronnelson.org/our-cause/.

Upon arriving at the property there were no clear directions on how to find the clubhouse. I ended up stopping at an apartment leasing office (yes, this course has apartments on various holes) for directions to the clubhouse. Once I arrived at the club house I came across a few other golfers who seemed friendly enough. The guy in the pro shop was also friendly and the check in process went smoothly. The Golfnow deal I had included the use driving range (which I was very appreciative of) which was stocked with balls. Considering it is August in Dallas, the course was in decent shape. The only exception to that was the bunkers. The ones I ended up in were in need of sand. Hitting out of them was just short of hitting off of concrete. The greens were in great shape and played very fast. My 'only' issue with this course is my group golfed 18 holes and the only time we saw a cart-girl was at the turn following the 9th hole. Around hole 5 we called the clubhouse and asked if there was a cart girl out. We were told "she's out and should be there shortly. Back to the cart girl.....upon seeing her at the turn we asked her if she was out making the rounds. We mentioned we had played the front 9 and never saw her or anyone else with a cart. Her response with a lot of unnecessary attitude was "I've been busy". No apology, nothing other than "I've been busy". Needless to say we did not make a purchase from her. Instead we went into the clubhouse and grabbed items from the bar where the staff was super friendly. We did not see the cart girl again until we completed the 18th hole. I find it unacceptable that I can golf 18 holes (on a course that claims to have cart girls) and only come across a cart girl at the club house. If you decide to golf here I highly recommend bringing a cooler filled with your drink of choice. Do NOT expect to buy anything on while on the course.

The giant pretzel is another of my favorites. We played for an hour and I swear it felt like no time at all! The golf is great for all levels - we played a scramble so each player could be set at their own level, and played Turtle Bay. Let's just say I did NOT carry my team...but it was still a blast! X Golf is great for friend groups, date nights, families, beginners, or pros looking for a place to practice when they can't get out to a course. I highly recommend!

The lighting where they request you to set up the wedding party table is very dimly lit so you'll need to bring some sort of lighting. There isn't a ton of parking so make sure your guests carpool. You're required to use caterers off their list. I think the list had about 6-7 on it. The room they offer for weddings inside is a hallway. Literally a hallway. It's definitely not worth the $1,500 price tag they put on it. I would recommend using the outdoor space if you can. It's spacious and looks like a spot you'd have a wedding. It's perfect for an October wedding! The woman who showed us the venue spent maybe ten minutes with us. We felt a little rushed. But then again it was 7pm so maybe she was ready to go home. We never did get a follow up call or email from her. I didn't quite get that warm feeling from them. It felt very corporate. They book up pretty quick so you'll want to schedule your date here way in advance. Overall a cute place to have a wedding. Just make sure you hire someone to bring in lighting and you book your wedding not in peak season or you'll have to book two years out. Update: I received a message from the woman who did my tour. 1) She addressed me as Samantha. My name is Stefanie. Therefore she showed a lack of attention to detail 2) She stated she was in a hurry because she was showing 2 groups at the same time. During our tour she told us we were the last group and there was no one here so we were free to wander around wherever. We never saw a second group or couple looking around. 3) She was confused by my comment about lack of parking. Due to her lack of information and not telling us they apparently have a second parking lot, how were we to know there was additional parking elsewhere other than the one small lot we saw when we pulled in? 4) Regarding the head table. During our tour she told us that's where they put the head table. There was no comment about it being able to be elsewhere. She said that's where it will be set up for your event so it didn't even sound negotiable. My review still stands.
