I have a Toyota RAV4 that is just 4 years old. The check engine light came on but I was pretty sure there was nothing wrong with the car. I took it into the Toyota Valencia dealership to inquire about it. I asked the agent Carlos Lopez if the light could mean anything else (as Toyota's are notorious for the check lights coming on). I told him that before the maintaince light came on and when I took it in, nothing was needed. Carlos assured me the only way to check was to do a diagnostic test that costs over $100. I again asked him if it could be anything else and he said no, so I consented for the test. Turns out, it was just the gas cap that wasn't put in tight enough that made the light go on. It took over $100 to find that out?! I can't believe Carlos couldn't have told me that from the get go, to simply the k the gas cap first. They know about this since it happens all the time. I really don't feel like they take very good care of the customers here. Very unhappy with the shoddy service. read more
