I buy most of my snacks here because they are so much less than any other store but your Best Buy's will be in the kitchen items and rugs. I get a card in the mail every month or so for 15% off the entire purchase I usually spend about $100 or more while I'm there.Today I bought two sets of Martha Stuart dishes regular $40 got them for $20 with 15% off. I bought a Ray dune frother for $3 Two beautiful kitchen rugs for $7 each. also a glass spray bottle for Oil for $5 paid more than that for a plastic one from TEMU

I disappointed in the reviews I see here! Are you seriously expecting a Dillard's or high end store…read moreexperience when the place is advertized as a discount store? You've got to know what you are there for! It's a scavenger hunt! I've picked up some great things and made some great buys at Ollie's. True some of their prices on things aren't as low as you might expect but just pass those by if they don't appeal to you, or if you feel they are too expensive but just a few of the things that I have picked up recently are books for the price of three and four dollars when they're still being sold for 20 and $24 on Amazon, a really nice bathtub length bath rug for $15 that sells in the stores for 35 or 40, and my best grab recently was a pair of Betsey Johnson sunglasses that I snagged for $3! Don't count Ollie's out just because you didn't find a good buy, they are there you just have to hunt for them and that's part of the fun. I'll be going back there soon because I love their book section and if I have any question about the book I just Google it while I'm in the store and find out what the current price is at other locations, and nine times out of 10 Ollie's price is better than most. They also have some great children's books and I'm a firm believer that more people need to read to their kids so go pick up a couple of two dollar books and read your kid a bedtime story tonight. Oh another item that I got that was a great buy, was a water meter for my potted plants it's the exact same thing that sells for $9.99 elsewhere and I got it for .99 cents, then after making sure it worked properly went back and bought six more. My plants are very happy with me right now. Ollie's also has a variety of canned goods that are priced very reasonably rather than what the grocery stores are charging so I always go there first before I hit the grocery store to see if anything on my list is available there. You've got to learn how to work it and have an open mind. Now get up off your arse, sieze the day and go buy that book to read to your kid tonight!

So interesting to hear from Bill about not only about the history of this and other bathhouses, but also how the thermal springs water is collected, what caused the decline in the 70s and 80s and the measures in place designed to prevent the spread of illnesses, like frequent testing of the water for viruses and bacteria. Very interesting to hear about the fears and impact of the AIDS epidemic in the 80s on Hot Springs as a contrast to the current pandemic. The current Lamar Bathhouse is a stone, brick and stucco Spanish style structure. It replaced an earlier Victorian building that honored US Supreme Court Justice Lamar. The bathhouse was unique in that it offered 5 different tub lengths to accomodate a variety of heights. Several of the original tubs are on display (or can be used for a photo op). Murals and stencils were added in the 20s to elicit a more European flavor. Today, Lamar Bathhouse functions as an admininstative building and has the park store, Bathhouse Row Emporium. Ask for Roxana for fun gift ideas. Make sure to stamp your Park Passport here and at Fordyce Bathhouse if you collect stamps. They are different at each site.
