I have been to the craft classes and they are wonderful and the librarian who teaches them is awesome ..She is so helpful, friendly and makes the classes a fun time.. They have a dept that helps you with tracing your ancestry and I need to fill those papers out again .. You can renew your books online and reserve books.. By the return book window there is a memorial garden where people who paint rocks can place them in memory of loved ones.. It is really a cool idea and lots of rocks there.. I paint rocks so a few of mine are there.. They also have a lot of videos and cds and a cute childrens section.. Five stars I love this library

They also have meeting rooms and a large variety of activities. It's kind of sad that they had to cut back hours, so some days of the week they open later. But Such is the state of our world now. The librarians are helpful and it's nice that you can check out your own books without waiting in line. Four stars.

This is our local library, just blocks away from our home and we are thrilled to have it!…read more It's a nicely appointedted and well run library with a very professional, friendly and helpful staff that know their stuff. I had a good feeling about this place when I first saw the big statue of a frog reading a book outside with benches for reading outdoors. Inside it is well organized with whole sections for kids and individual rooms for audio, including lots of CD's and audiobooks and other library functions open to the public. The library offers access to their full catalog as well as to assistance with technology research and a host of special programs, including story time for children. Additional resources are available online through ebooks and streaming videos with your library card.  Over 34, 000 movies and documentaries as well as the Great Course is available there.  They are even offering Zoom talks!   With COVID protocols the library is now open Mon - Fri 10am - 6pm with social distancing with a building capacity is of 50. There are 4 computers available in the computer lab, test proctoring is available by appointment. Book drop is open and available at the back of the building. and you can call ahead at (251-968-1176) if you prefer take-out service. Meeting room, notary service, and on-site programming not available at this time. A cool service is their free Wi-Fi which is available 24/7 eve after hours, you can access this service from their parking lot! They will scan documents to your email free of charge and printing services are available from the computer lab and photo copying is available at 15¢ per page. Bottom line: We love to get our books at the library and sometimes just hang out and this is a great place for both. Check it out!!

Ok, so no one gets too excited about going to the library, but the employees here are SO nice…read more As a visitor to the GS area, I needed to print some documents. I have a library card to MY public library, but it was 15 hours north. No worries. I asked for help and they delivered. They assigned me a temporary computer password, I logged in, set up the print job and they printed it for me. I paid for my prints and I was on my way. They were SO NICE! Sadly, I would probably not get this kind of customer service at my home library. They need to take some lessons on customer service from TBNPB.

Their annual August book sale had been canceled due to lack of books! The dedicated computer that served as the card catalogue wasn't on because "they had gone to a new system & it couldn't be updated". No effort expended to show me how to access their inventory on the public computers. Whole sections of the library have been gutted; no idea why since there is plenty of room on the still existing shelves. Pre-Covid library easily had twice as many books as now. So sad to see what it's become.

This one in Meyer Park near the playground is in good shape. It appears to be a repurposed newspaper dispenser though it needs some attention. The "window" is no longer attached and would not protect the books inside from rain. The library is also empty. Someone has put some love into this. Now it just needs books. Our recent RV trip had us staying here for three nights and it was definitely a little bitter sweet when we broke camp and headed home after enjoying a month long trip on the road but there's no doubt we'll be back hopefully for a longer stay next time. There's so much to see and do in and around the area, the beaches are gorgeous and there's some pretty good food options as well. I was a little taken back by the amount of growth this area has seen in the past 5 years or so I guess everyone is trying to get their little piece of paradise we are seeing similar migration in Florida hopefully the vibe here never changes...
