I have purchased a set of 4 tires twice both times a very good experience. Along with the purchase comes the offer for free rotation so I made an appointment for 1PM they did say it might take 1.5 hours. I got to the appointment 15 minutes early. At 2.30PM my car was still in the parking lot. POOR service with certainly no expression of regrets from the staff. So, i got my keys and left. The bottom line is I wonder if they treat customers who wouldn't be paying differently than those that are there for services that will need payment. SO MUCH FOR FREE benefits. read more

Heading into a winter storm weekend I encountered a flat tire in Greenland which I was able to inflate enough to make it to Town Fair Tire in Portsmouth. The associate who looked at my tire quickly found a sharp piece of metal in the tire. After a brief visit to the service desk, my car was promptly brought in and the tire was patched. Since I have purchased tires previously at Town Fair they offer free patching of tires!!! Yay me!!! A small charge of $12.45 was given for mounting and balancing and I was on my way within less then an hour. The staff was knowledgable, professional and friendly!! read more

"Come back in January" when we're not busy. No thanks, went to Mavis tires, got the same tires (FOR LESS!!) put on the next day!! Brought my car in on Saturday for 9:30 appointment for a new tire and alignment. Called me 20 minutes before the store closed and said if I don't make it before 4pm I can't get my car till Monday. Wasn't able to make that work went and picked my car up Monday to notice through the paper work they never did the alignment. I had to bring that up to them! I also was charged for it! Was told this was missed and they will do it right now for me only takes 20 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes they told me their tech. Was leaving for the day and can't do it. I then scheduled another appointment to get this done for Friday morning at 8am, was told they will get me in and out as I've already paid for this! Show up Friday morning wait 20 minutes to be told they can't get me in till 11am! Told them I would just like a refund. They were very rude and never apologized for wasting my time. Didn't say a word during the whole process! Don't recommend going to this place. read more

We had an appointment at 4pm to have tires changed, balanced, and an alignment. We showed up 15 minutes early. Even asked them when we got there if everything was still on schedule. Even gave them an "out" asking if they were behind, we could just come back... "no, no, no... all is good!" Waited and hour and a half, and the STILL had not even brought the truck in to a stall!!! Asked them what the deal was, and they just said "sorry! This time of year, we are really busy" Really?!?! Then why make appointments? I drove up from Massachusetts to visit Portsmouth for the day and while in route hit a classic Massachusetts pot hole on 95. Long story short, after a lovey lunch in downtown Portsmouth we returned to our car to discover two damaged tires. This location was able to be squeeze us in quickly to replace our tires and had us on our way home in just over an hour. Thank you! Gets one star b/c that's the lowest offered. On Tuesday, Dec 26 at around 2pm, 2 days before starting my 2000 mile road trip, I noticed a piece of metal sticking out of the middle of my left front pickup tire. It might have been there for minutes or months, I hadn't seen it before. I wanted it out. We were near the Town Fair tire store in Newington NH, my wife told me to pull in and have them look at it. What can it hurt? Just need a pliers to pull it out. I went in and the manager grabbed a clip board and came out to look at it. He appeared apprehensive shaking his head stating that I had (he made up a 'tire tread' word) upon looking at the metal piece. "What's that?" I inquired. He rattled off some more fake big tire words ending with I'll need a new tire. He cant have his guys risk taking it out, it may explode (yes, he really said this) and I can't put my guys at risk. Such a blatant lie. I must have had 'stupid' scrawled on my forehead. I've had many decades of many cars and many tires. He must deal with a serious amount of ignorant people. So, I took it to my mechanic in Portsmouth, its now 4pm and they close in an hour. They'll try and look at it tomorrow am. Looks like I may have to postpone the trip. But, remember, this is a Blessed month across the country. Warm weather, excellent roads and no snow. Incredible. So I want to hit the road. I got a call around 9am the next day to come get my pickup. (??) John the owner (who is incredibly fair and never cheated us over the last few decades) told me that he pulled the metal last night and sprayed it, looking for a leak. He rechecked the pressure that morning and it did not loose any air. So, it did not puncture. The price? Free, no cost. Buyer beware!! Drive a little further down the road and avoid Town Fair tires. read more

While I have used Town Fair tire center for ~40 years and over a dozen sets of tires; I was very dissatisfied with their inability to accomplish my alignment. I can accept the first time they sent me back to my mechanic to free the locknuts and adjustment bolts. However, after my mechanic worked for an hour and a half freeing and lubricating these bolts, I brought it back for Town Fair to complete their work. Now they said that the rear camber "is still froze". Contrary to this: The printout shows the left rear camber was moved from in spec 2.2 degrees to a value out of spec. When I returned to my mechanic for the second time he stated that he had loosened the locknuts and turned both adjusting bolts and sprayed them with a lubricant. There really was nothing else he could do. He suggested I have my alignment done at a shop he recommended as he's had numerous issues with this Town Fair store being unable to complete alignments. I am going to follow his advice, but plan to follow up by requesting reimbursement for the incomplete alignment. I plan on updating this review upon receiving their response. read more

I've been a long time customer of the Town Fair Tire in Newington, NH but I will never go back to that location for service because of the terrible service I received on 10/19/23. I had a 3pm appointment which I was about 20 minutes early for and still had to wait 2 hours with no notification of what the hold up was. One of the front desk personnel working that day, James, asked me for my key so he was aware that I was waiting for that long. But neither he or anyone else provided me an update. I understand that they had 2 techs working that day but my appointment should have been cancelled and rescheduled. I rescheduled with a Town Fair Tire in Somersworth, NH and service was much quicker. The techs in Newington, NH broke 3 of my wheel covers over the last several appointments I had there and I need to go back there to get a reimbursement. Instead of using a hand wrench to tighten the wheel caps, they use power tools and it breaks the plastic wheel cap covers. read more

My wife's car had a tire leaking badly -- 10 psi per day -- and I stopped in at the Portsmouth NH store with another tire to have mounted. When I got up to the counter I saw the sign saying I needed an appointment, but I asked if they could take me anyway, and they said not to worry about it, they'd fit me in. They took the car in quickly, got the good tire mounted, and I was out of there in a half hour. I've always had good service there, but this was above expectations. Thanks so much! read more

Service is terrible. I bought my tires and rims here. Great experience buying... but good luck getting any other service from them ever. Been there 3 times in the last 2 months to get my tires rotated, but the service is awful. They won't let me schedule a tire rotation. When I call, they just say to come in and they'll squeeze me in. I show up and then I am told it's going to be a 3 hour wait. Today the guy laughed when I told him what the guy on the phone said. Guy at the counter said, "That's just what we tell people on the phone." All done. Never buying from here again. Don't buy unless you expect to never get your tires rotated. read more

I have aluminum alloy Rims the torque is 97ft lb they clearly didn't set them correctly. Had to use a three foot breaker bar and jump on it to get the others off. read more

Have been a loyal customer of this store but no more. Purchased many sets of tires here. Two weeks ago took in my 2015 Mini Countryman, bought 4 new tires and paid for a 4 wheel alignment. When I picked up my car 3 of the 4 alignment readings were in the red. Was told by the tech that they were unable to adjust further. Car pulled badly to the left when driven. Took it to the Mini dealer, who said the car was badly out of alignment. Mini corrected the alignment and now my car drives correctly. Called Town Fair Tire, who kept me on hold for 10 minutes, then told me they guaranteed their work and I needed to take my car back to them for alignment. Yet they told me they couldn't align it correctly when I picked it up!! Refused to refund my money. Bad business and poor customer service. Won't use them again. Buyer beware. read more

Please read Amendment at the end. ===================== I will no longer go to this company for tires or service. They ignored my concerns and lied to me multiple times. All I wanted was a simple swap of my winter tires for my summer tires. The front desk associate inspected one of those summer tires for tread depth, and said he could use the tires I had brought, but suggested I buy new tires because "the guys in the back will give me hell about this." I wasn't aware that was my responsibility or problem, and replied, "I think I'll only need two." He did not proceed to check the other three tires for tread depth. He did upsell me on four tires and the warranty that comes with them. Again I asked why I couldn't just get two tires, and he said that he'll give me a deal, and charge me for two but make sure I get all four. I didn't realize he was only talking about the warranty, which I had specifically said I did not want. Now for the lies: Lie #1: "No need to make an appointment for a tire swap" - I had called Town Fair Tire, and was told that I did not need an appointment for a tire swap. I was pleasantly surprised by this and envisioned a quick tire swap. However, when I drove all the way there, they said, "well you could leave it, but I don't know how long it's going to take, it would be better for you to make an appointment." So I made the appointment for a few hours later and left a bit disgruntled for my wasted time. Lie #2: "We'll have you out in 90 minutes or less." - When I made the appointment I was told that they would have me in and out in less than 90 minutes. Again, this sounded nice but was not the truth. After 90 minutes of waiting, I asked another gentleman who had been there just as long what he was having done. He replied, "it doesn't help to make appointments, because I've already been here 2 hours." So apparently, they dangle carrots for other customers as well. Lie #3: "You need an alignment" - Due to the high price I was quoted after the front desk associate only checked one of my summer tires, I was told that the alignment will be optional, and I would be asked if I wanted it. Well, lo and behold everything was in the red and the alignment was really needed. Well, much to my surprise, it was still in the red after the so-called "alignment", so I'm not really sure what I paid for. In the end, I realize I'm at fault for not questioning the bill, and also for not walking out when my initial concerns were blatantly ignored. I learned my lesson, and will never go to Town Fair Tire again. I will also tell everyone I know about this experience in the hopes that the Town Fair Tire in Newington, NH does not take advantage of anyone else. I really hope that Town Fair Tire realizes this is unacceptable customer service and does something to rectify it immediately. ============================== AMENDMENT I am very happy to update this review. Town Fair Tire has been very responsive and apologetic. I've been contacted by the Store Manager and Head of Customer Service. They could have easily ignored this, but instead, they are taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone improves on those mistakes. I'm glad that TFT is a company that does the latter. Thank you, TFT, for your responsiveness and integrity concerning this experience, it's a sign of a company that cares about its customers. I have been going to Town Fair Tire for years and I certainly wouldn't go anywhere else! I don't believe anyone can beat their prices nor their service! My sales associate Jake helped me find the best tires for all around weather! He showed me different styles and even let me walk around the store to see them in person! I couldn't have asked for a more reliable associate to help provide 4 new tires for my old Ford. I was happy to have them replace the tires but even happier to hear the feedback with my car. They walked me through the process of what was wrong with my car and the future steps to take. They even gave me a paper with detailed notes on it in case I forgot what they were talking about! I had scheduled an appt for tires, got the run around trying to add on different things that weren't necessary (joys of being a girl in a truck), the rep said it would take 90 minutes to replace two tires and perform their "free" alignment check. After 40 minutes passed, the truck was still sitting in the parking lot and the attendants were gabbing away. Not to mention they tried to tack on a $50 "factory alignment" for a rear wheel truck and informed me that it would extremely dangerous to leave without doing so... needless to say, I won't be shopping here again. 1st problem bought 4 tires for my BMW got 18,000 miles out of them and when I went back they told me I bought a close out tire nothing they could do. I had no idea tires had no warranty they sold me junk. 2nd problem I bought tires for my Toyota Tundra and they dry rotted after only 1 year so instead of refunding me my money they pro-rated them and charged me for new install. Boy was I disappointed. I arrived on time for my scheduled tire installation and had to wait twenty minutes before a clerk was available. Then I had to wait two and a half hours for the installation to be done. While their website asks you to request an appointment, the website is not connected to the actual schedule at the local stores, so they can tremendously overbook popular times. I think this really poor customer service, and if I had known this was the way they treated customers I would have simply gone elsewhere, since there were multiple other providers with comparable prices. In addition, the sales mentioned the registration form they gave me that I needed to mail to enact the warranty. Well, they never gave me the registration form. So I gave them a one-star review. UPDATE: In response to this review, the manager called me and offered to refund the labor cost for the work done, because "this is not the way they do business"; He also submitted the registration form for me. This is much better customer service from the local store, so I'll increase the stars. Thank you Jason. However, I am only going to raise it to two stars because the corporate website scheduler caused the problem, not the local store. The website scheduler is not designed to check the schedules at the local store, and can easily overbook appointments. Other corporate websites that offer local appointment scheduling do this far better, and somebody at corporate needs to learn from other website schedulers. Until corporate website scheduling is done better than it currently is, this scenario is likely to happen again. I sure would not be happy to go in for lifetime servicing on my tires and face this type of delay again. So I won't raise the stars above two to hopefully catch corporate's attention to get this scheduling problem for customers resolved. read more

I had tires installed in the spring and I almost wrote this bad review then. They damaged my rims even though I specifically pointed out that they were painted and tipped the guy $20. When I picked it up he hadn't even bothered to use a special nylon driver. So all of the holes have scratches as well as the damage around the edges. The managers name is Chris and too his credit he seemed very sorry for the mistake. Today I called to check on tires after the wound had healed because in the past I had liked them, they are the cheapest around, and on the phone they treated me like I was stupid. I'll pay a little bit more for the expert installation and to not be treated as if I'm stupid. read more

Could a tire purchase and install be more carefree? I don't think so! I ordered tires online (w/a price match, no less), made an appointment, met w *associate Joey* right on time. He was so cordial, and made sure I had every discount and service available. Having had a bad experience elsewhere (where the lug nuts had not been properly tightened and the wheels had almost fallen off my car on the highway), Joey assured me of their double and triple safety check standards before a car leaves the bay. Just had new tires installed on my Corvette and am extremely pleased with the service and price. Mike took my order and searched for the exact right tires for the 1994 Corvette and said they would be in within three days. On day three, he called and sure enough they were in and we had them installed, balanced, aligned and done in about an hour. Mike knew his stuff and suggested the summer tires for best ride, then had to locate a bracket for the tire sensor that was not in stock, but found one and had it delivered immediately. Great service, good price, nice knowledgeable guy to deal with. Car rode perfectly after the install. Highly recommend. read more
