Stopped in here to pick up some Prosecco and wow! This is one fully stocked Total Wine location. I was looking for Bellissima and when I went to the front the guy working at the pick up counter was a little short with me for asking some questions about where to try and find this wine. Look, I get it, it was 10 am, but yet, here we were and I needed some help. After I finally got what I was looking for, of course then every 30 seconds some random employee then was trying to see if I needed help. Huge Total Wine location. We are on vacation this weekend with friends in Louisville and stopped here on our first night. My husband and his friend got a few things for us including some Green River items, and they were sampling some items that I liked too, like a chocolate whisky and a cider whiskey. I'm always jealous when I visit a Total Wine as they aren't around in Pennsylvania due to our state-run system. And while the casual visit, especially on the weekend, won't help you with an allocated bottle - I do appreciate their reward system that can earn you limited bottles. In particular though, I was disappointed in their tequila selection. The vast majority of their additive laden, run of the mill varieties, was a bit disappointing. Total Wine ... yeah, you're pretty much the total deal. If you're in need of a specific spirit and even more so if you want a variety to choose from, Total Wine & More is a great spot to go. Over the weekend, I found myself in want of dark rum, white rum, Rolling Rock beer in cans and Gosling's ginger beer. (Send me a DM, and I can tell you why I was looking for these, if you're curious.) Anyway, TW&M made this easy except for the fact that it has so many types of rum. It took me a bit to find a couple to buy. The staff recommendations included on the shelves were a bit of a help. I was also a bit sad at first to see that the Gosling's ginger beer was out of stock, but an employee got more down from pallets on top of the shelf. I also spied "Total Discovery" on aisle signage near the wine. (Is this like the "Beyond" of Bed, Bath & Beyond?) When I peered cautiously around the corner, I was sad to not find a portal to another world but did later find this on TW&M's site: https://www.totalwine.com/total-discovery/c. So there ya go. This TW&M also has a great classroom set-up in the back. Love to do a tasting there once COVID is over. TW&M is such a fun shopping experience, for shopping for fun times. Of the major liquor outlets in the Louisville area I have a hard time declaring a favorite. Liquor Barn has the market on craft beer, hands down. Total Wine shines in the wine arena. When it comes to spirits they're about neck-and-neck. The décor of Total Wine is decidedly not warehouse-y. The place is well lit, but with dark, wood panel-esque highlights. It's logically arranged, and has a pretty sizable walk-in beer cave in the back. :D They sport a spectacular array of craft beers, almost all available as singles so you can create your own meal - err - six pack. When it came time for getting help, we found help not very hard to find. Even though the location had only been open for a few days on our first visit, they knew right where to send us for what we were looking for. Chances are, if you're looking for just about any type of alcohol, you'll find it at a pretty competitive price. Their selection is amazing, and you're not limited to national brands. This location of Total Wine & More is great! I will start by saying, more often than not, I do my best to shop local. So, Total Wine isn't my go-to liquor store, because there are smaller stores closer to my neighborhood that I frequent. That said, if I'm making a large bulk purchase, or if I happen to be nearby, I will definitely stop at Total Wine; because they have a massive selection and their prices honestly cannot be beat! Don't let the name fool you, while they do have tons of wine they also carry so much more. They have a full liquor selection, beer, mixers, party supplies, and lots of other merchandise. I still remember the thunderous hype Total Wine received when it first opened in Louisville. It was justified then, and still is! The selection is excellent across the board, with plenty of libations that would otherwise be uncommon (if not entirely unavailable) in the area. The prices are also among the best you'll find outside of closeout liquor stores. Total Wine has a pretty accurate inventory tracker on their website, so it's easy to pinpoint what you want and make a beeline for it. That having been said, it's a charming place to just meander through the aisles and take it all in. It's a bright, inviting store with friendly staff and top-notch cleanliness. And if you're looking to try random new things here and there, the selection of shooters and single beers is expansive and a blast to look through. I primarily shop at Total Wine for craft beer. Fittingly, this location gives Kentucky its due: most of the major Louisville breweries are present, as well as plenty of others across the state (they've really beefed up their Lexington offerings recently). The rest of the country is also well-represented, with some great surprises in the 12/15-pack section. I love those multipacks that combine different breweries; if you ever see one with the Deep Ellum IPA, grab it. You'll likely have to deal with some overflow from Texas Roadhouse on the way in, but Total Wine is well worth it. read more

I was very happy when Total Wine & More announced they were opening a second location on Shelbyville Road. The new location is perfect for me. The parking lot is big and the store is easy to access. The Total Wine & More store is massive in my opinion. They have almost every wine, beer and liquor anyone could want or need. My favorite thing is that I can place my order via the app or online and it is ready for me when I get to the store. That is major for me as I do not enjoy hunting down what I am looking for when I go shopping for liquor. The app lets me easily search for what I want. I can also see all of the sales. The app retains my past orders AND I can set up a favorites list so shopping is a snap. If I want to browse I still do but I go to the pick up counter and my order is boxed and ready to go. I just really like Total Wine. So much. This location is smaller than Louisville's first TW&M out at the Summit. But it is ever so slightly more conveniently located for me and my needs. The OG Louisville location also has more helpful and friendly employees, in my opinion....although my visit to this location less than two weeks before Christmas and it's location in the heart of mall-mageddon probably combine to make both a crankier customer base and a crankier staff.... But anyway. I continue to love Total Wine. My favorite, wallet-friendly, sorta-local wine costs $8.50 at my local liquor store (y'all...sometimes I'm fancy...sometimes I want to not go in to debt for wine. Come at me). At Total Wine it costs $5.40....and that is BEFORE a multi-bottle/case discount. I am a happy camper about this. My main complaint about Total Wine (and I think this is across more than just this location) is that I just don't get some of their organization systems. I was specifically looking for a bourbon from Wild Turkey, but NOT the basic Wild Turkey or 101 versions. It took me FOREVER to find the Rare Breed I was looking for. It was no where near the Wild Turkey and 101 bottles. And further down the aisle was where you can find the Russel's stuff. In my head...the offerings from the same brand/maker would make much more sense to be nearer together on the shelves. The same goes for the beer singles organization! In that area, I can see that the beer tends to be organized by style which makes sense for the beverage. But sometimes I just want to know what they have from a particular brewery. Anyway....I am going to keep shopping at my local liquor stores, for sure. Nothing can completely replace them. But for parties or bulk purchases or browsing or trying something new with a kinder price tag...Total Wine is my go-to! read more

The store is clean and well organized, the staff is helpful and will share their opinions if you ask. Their staff is helpful, friendly, courteous, and efficient. Total Wine also has great specials, wine tasting, and wine and spirits classes. And cigars (I'm not a smoker). Parking is plentiful though getting through mall traffic can be a problem if you don't time it right. Or you can just combine you trips. Total Wine is worth the trip. You can create an account, browse the weekly deals and buy wine online and pick it up at the store within 2 hours or at your convenience after that. I recently purchased 6 bottles (10% discount on 6) and on my way to CycleBar, drove by the store and picked them up and was in and out in 2 minutes or less. Such a time saver. When you first go inside, it has all the familiarity of the bigger liquor stores you probably frequent. Friendly staff, taste testing, and all the party snacks/mixers you're looking for. For the bourbon hunters out there, their selection of craft and premium whiskies are top notch. Lots of single barrel selections and exclusive brands to Total Wine. For the wine lovers, I didn't forget about you. There's a reason they call it Total Wine, so I just left it alone. The only things I didn't like about the store are how cramped it can be at times. I don't feel like the aisles are well spaced but maybe I'm crazy. Also not a fan of where they set up the taste-testing bar. I visited Total Wine today to try to find organic or low-sulfite white wine. I expected to walk through the aisles for a long time reading labels. Luckily, assistant manager Lauren offered to help me. Lauren knew more about wine than anyone I've ever talked to. She spent at least 30 minutes showing me the wines most likely to meet my needs. She explained Old World wine generally has fewer additives than U.S. wine, which I didn't know. I ended up buying six bottles of wine (three French, one Italian, one Chilean and one South African) at a total cost well within my price range. I'll try them one at a time to see if I have a reaction (headache, flushed face, itchy skin) or not. I love wine and I've never had such good customer service buying it! After my experience with Lauren, I'm pretty sure I'll be a Total Wine customer for life! read more
