Very knowledgeable explanation and cool merch., was wall to wall. I sampled a few after a small explanation of what I liked and was blown away at the great pours I was able to try. I wish I had taken more photos because we were walking around oohing and aahing and saying, "Wow, look at this!" and "Look at that!" so much that we were already getting enough looks from people. This was easily one of the nicest grocery stores we've ever been in. The selection was incredible, and everything looked so fresh and appetizing. Coming from California, there were so many options we just don't have available to us back home. I was especially impressed by the huge selection of premade and pre-prepped meals. As someone who doesn't really cook, I kept thinking that if I lived in this area, I could probably eat a lot healthier simply because there were so many fresh, convenient options ready to grab and go. I also loved seeing so many individual-sized meals, which would be perfect for anyone shopping or cooking for just one person. And the prices! We obviously expected things to be less expensive than California, but we were still surprised by how reasonably priced everything seemed. It was genuinely hard not to buy one of everything. We're staying at a hotel that provides breakfast and dinner, so we showed some restraint and mostly picked up snacks, drinks, and water for our room. We did, however, venture into the dessert section, which was absolutely mouthwatering, and bought one of their gooey butter desserts. Good grief. PURE SUGAR. It may legitimately be one of the sweetest desserts we have ever eaten. This is something you need to eat in a fudge-sized portion, but ours came in what felt like a bread-sized paper tin, and they sell even bigger ones! I cannot imagine eating that much at once. Definitely a dessert to share...with several people. We also tried a Zevia cream soda and really liked it. We specifically chose it because of its ingredients and my husband's dietary restrictions, so finding a drink he could have that also tasted good was a nice surprise. We liked it enough that we'll be looking for more. If we were staying in the area longer, I absolutely would have gone back to try some of the prepared meals. Great selection, beautiful store, reasonable prices, and an impressive amount of fresh and convenient food options. We went in just to look around and left wishing we had a Dierbergs back home.

Wide open space when you walk in with a bar and register along the back wall. Four or so guys…read morebehind the counter but they weren't greeting people. I was looking for something specific; couldn't find it so went to the register to ask for help. One of the staff was ringing someone up and the other four looked like they were trying to find something on the register or a computer and didn't even look up. Finally, one of them did and when I asked he showed me the location of the item I was looking for. I like to wander around and look, so I did that. People coming and going, steadily busy. When I was ready to check out, I was asked if I was a rewards member, I said no. No follow up, no asking if I wanted to join, nothing. There was also a sign next to the register for a drawing that was to occur that night, the qualifier was a purchase amount which I exceeded. Just like the rewards, I was given no information, not offered an entry, again nothing. Also, no smile, no friendliness, nothing. I won't waste my time coming here again. Other places I go are way too friendly and helpful and seem to care that I am a customer. I didn't get that here at all. I was in the area, and they were listed as having the item I was looking for, next time I will go out of my way to go somewhere else.

They have a small bar area where they have eight beers on tap - some great local craft beer choices as well. You can have a pour of whiskey from the menu or purchase a bottle of wine and pay a $10 corking fee to drink it at the bar. If you are a whiskey drinker, you will be very happy with the selection of pours at the bar. They also have tiered whiskey flights! Next to the bar is a small lounge area with a couch and chairs to relax and have a drink. The assortment of local and craft beers, wine and spirits offered is impressive along with a range of price levels. Come in and check out all that Barrel Blends has to offer. You will not be disappointed!
