It sucks because kindercare has a great reputation and I want the best for my child but I do not want to have another interaction like that again with the director.

My toddler is always smiling on drop off with Janelle and Tracy. I have a demanding career in healthcare (what a time!!), and I know everyday they are so well taken care of and loved! The kids are thriving and LOVE coming to school. They are also so tired at the end of the day from the physical and educational stimulation that they sleep 12 hours straight (always helps!). I guess the only negative would be that the location might not be convenient for the work from home'rs, but I would recommend all my friends to this childcare without any hesitation, esp if it is convenient! After lots and lots of research and so many phone calls, we chose Shady Lane School. The staff at Shady Lane are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Drop off and pick up usually take us longer than I expect because my son wants to go around and visit different teachers and say hi to everyone. Everyone learned his name quickly and greets him warmly even when he's being grumpy. Whenever I have to talk to the administrative team, my son is thrilled to play at the large train table by the front desk. His teachers are so dedicated, and I think that is such a big part of why this school is special. Our family is big and complicated, but my son's teachers have gone out their way to learn names and faces. They offer positive encouragement and praise as well as boundaries and redirection. My son used to argue with me about going to school at his last learning center/childcare provider, but now he's always eager to get up and go. I am so thankful that we found Shady Lane, and I will certainly keep them in mind if/when we have another child.

The staff knows nearly every student on a first name basis regardless of whether they've had them as a student. Students go on plenty of trips, participate in plenty of fun and educational activities, and the NHS community doubles as both a school and a family. When the school was at risk for losing their original building due to insufficient funding for mold and asbestos damage, hundreds of people came together to ensure that their concerns were heard by the BVIU. And thanks to the efforts made by many, they will be able to return for the 26-27 school year! I think that's the best example of the familial bond of the NHS community. Go Bears!

The main reason for this was the treatment I received from Mrs. Sprinker, one of the teachers. Mrs. Sprinker consistently yelled at me, belittled me, and gave me unrealistic expectations. She showed a complete lack of understanding and empathy for my special needs, despite my IEP. Her behavior created a toxic and stressful environment that made it impossible for me to learn and succeed. Furthermore, Mrs. Sprinker denied me basic human needs, such as using the bathroom, and gave me tasks to do even before the school day started. She showed a complete disregard for my well-being and autonomy. I would not recommend New Horizon Beaver County to anyone, especially students with special needs. Great little preschool . Ms. Reefman is very kind and always let's me know how the day was for the…read morekids. They come home with a folder of the days learning and it's usually a new letter in capital and lowercase. Today's letter was M and m. My nephew Is having a hard time drawing those letters although he can trace them right. I know he's learning a lot from being there though. He always comes home with a story about how his day went and what he did. The school itself is nice and has a beautiful exterior with planted bushes and a large tree. They newly paved the entrance and sidewalks so it gives the school and updated look. Whenever you first come up to the building you are greeted by the teacher who releases your child once the teacher recognizes your face. I love the feel of security the school has that makes your child feel safe. They have security guards there and no one is allowed in the school that shouldn't be. That makes me feel safe knowing my nephew is being looked over.

I have had a fantastic experience working with Lenny at Cindy Cohen Driving School…read more I learned how to drive as a teenager with multiple instructors and got a license. After a many year hiatus from driving, I took driving lessons with three driving schools, the third of which was Cindy Cohen. My experience at Cindy Cohen was terrific, far better than all the others I had both as a teenager and over the last few years. Scheduling lessons was easy, and there were no sudden cancellations. Lenny, the instructor I worked with, was amazing--far better than any other instructor I have ever worked with. He gave me detailed feedback at every part of my lesson, including compliments on what I did well and specific suggestions for how to improve. I have never before gotten such thorough feedback from an instructor. He also asked me about specific skills that I wanted to work on and incorporates them into the lesson. After 3 lessons with Lenny, I both feel much more confident behind the wheel and have specific ideas for how to further improve as a driver. I would give Lenny my highest recommendation as a driving instructor.
