However, once you sign a contract with them, communication is very poor. I was very unimpressed. I actually decided to settle even though I was not completely satisfied. I attempted to call Ray to ask questions but he never answers his phone. Also, when I called David with questions he often deffered to Ray. I was warned at the beginning that the best way to get in touch with Ray was via email. However, Ray barely responded even with email. In addition, David has a tendency to be very rude. In general, a total lack of professional behavior from both individuals. I expect much better treatment as a client. Of course the most communication I ever received was once the insurance company paid and they were collecting there 20%.

I did a lot of research about who to hire and a lot of the reviews I read online seemed fake. I eventually found Andrew Gordon at Reliable Claims Adjusting and he was a godsend for us. He's experienced and was able to quickly and clearly explain all of the steps in the process. It was daunting with all that we both had to do, but he reassured us with his experience. We worked together for almost a year (things take a long time with complex claims like ours, along with backlogs with insurance and adjusters). Andrew helped us figure things out with mold remediation and remodeling, along with working things out with insurance. It was a stressful and drawn-out experience, but Andrew had our backs and fought for us, letting us know our rights and making sure we got what we were owed. What Andrew helped with the most was with identifying areas that the insurance companies missed. We successfully challenged lower offers from the companies, resulting in better payment outcomes for us. We had a fire at our home in October of 2010, and Ray Altieri III left his card. After being…read moretreated rudely by my insurance company I made the decision to hire a Public Adjuster. I still feel that the services provided by a Public Adjuster can be valuable, but I now realize how important it is to find one that is good. Ray pretty much said he would take care of going through our contents, unfortunately he was not very thorough, my wife and I spent over 20 hours after he went through and we found as much as he did. Basically his job was to help us get reimbursed for everything, and he missed half of the value of our possessions. The real problems though were his utter lack of responsiveness. Unless he needed me to endorse a check, he rarely called and would frequently wait over a week to call me back. It was absolutely infuriating. The reason it was so frustrating is because he was so inaccurate in the timing of everything. He indicated we would be settled with the insurance company in 2 or 3 months. He was wrong it took over 6. He indicated we should be moved in within 6 months. Again he was grossly incorrect, it took 18 months. This cost us significantly as our Alternative Living Expenses (ALE) was exhausted after about 7 months, so for most of a year we had to pay rent and mortgage. Some delays were due to our contractor, but that is another story. Altieri held our money from the insurance company hostage and refused to endorse the check to us until we had paid for the entire claim, including his percentage of the construction portion even though we had not collected that amount yet. We had to pay the percentage from the build out of our contents, leaving us short to replace our belongings. There were 2 particular incidents where Altieri Transco American placed their business partners Quick Dry ahead of us. By the time a year had gone by I was wondering why I was paying them 8% of everything I got since it seemed like I was representing myself anyway. I ended up parting ways with them and negotiating directly with the insurance company for the last few months and it worked out better and went faster. I cannot overstate what a terrible experience it was for me working with Altieri Transco.
