I'm always skeptical of contractors in general, and HVAC contractors in particular, because there are so many ways they can skirt around issues. Whatever issues of trust that the industry faces, my fears were laid to rest with Total Air and Fernie Guerrero. Trying to sell a home in El Paso with forced air "Swamp" coolers proved to be impossible, so I contracted Total Air to convert the house, and it sold in record time. There were hiccups along the way, but the owner, Brandon Brooks, and his team stood by their recommendations and ensured that the house was comfortable and efficient for years to come. I keep in touch with the new owners of my home, and they report being very satisfied with the unit since they moved in. I have since referred Fernie, Brandon and the Total Air team to friends, family and a non-profit organization where I sit on the board, and all parties that have used them report equal satisfaction. I recently had an excellent experience with Christian from Total Air, especially considering the current poor air quality in El Paso. on June 6, 2017 I had an A/C unit installed in my home by Total Air, Sean the sale representative was very professional and knowledgeable about the product and the installation. when I called him he always returned my call in a timely manner. I was so impress with Brandon, who is the President of this company, he deliver my unit, took it of the truck, and ensure that I conduct an inspection for any damages. the team that did the installation and the electricians were very respectfully and professional, they answer all of my questions. Angel instruction on the use of digital thermostat was very easy to understand, The site supervisor did a fantastic job explaining the process to me. You customer service is amazing when ever I call them or they call me they very polite and professional. Exceptional follow-up Service!! Total Air installed a new system in my home in Oct. 2018. System's working great but I was having issues installing new filters due to the size and location of the new unit. Contacted Luis Hernandez at Total Air and he jumped on it right away. The next day he showed up with his crew, came up with a solution and didn't leave until it was fixed. Luis, Angel and Chuy did a fantastic job! Their work was professional and neat, and they cleaned up as they worked as well as when the job was done. I want to add that these guys put down a drop cloth to keep my carpet clean and covered my furniture to keep the dust off while they worked. Many companies don't bother to take this extra step. We just recently converted to refrigerated air system here in El Paso. I was impressed by the efficiency of the workers who were sent to do the conversion. Besides being excellent workers, all of them were very courteous and respectful. Any questions we asked were answered in detail. They are very knowledgeable, stuck to their job not wasting any minute at all. THEY ARE GOOD WORKERS!! Many thanks to the following Total Air employees: Kanyon, Rudy, Luis - who installed the system; Ismael and Mario - who handled the air duct replacement/repair; Pedro Cabral and assistant who finished the carpentry and cosmetics. We have had our unit since September of 2016. It's May 2018 and we have to call a fourth time to fix the unit. The first time was immediately after installation. They started that they upgraded the electrical but everything would surge when the until turned on. The sales rep tried to say it was due to is being in an older side of town. Then a year later, THE ENTIRE MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED! Next, in April 10 2018, the capacitor needed replacing and they added another booster to help with the surging yet again. Today is May 12, 2018, 2 days after the 30 day labor warranty and the unit is doing the exact same thing it did in April. So now, we have to pay again to fix it for the 4th time in a year and a half while still paying for this unit. This is absolutely ridiculous and a rip-off! I strongly do not recommend going with Total Air. Bad product, bad service. read more

Total Air is a great company and my husband and I would recommend them to anyone that needs work done. They are curteous, knowledgeable and always on time. We had our heating and cooling system installed about 10 years ago by them. We never had any issues and are still very happy with it. I contacted Mr. Brooks a few days ago because we are having work done on our roof and needed the unit removed. After 10 years he still honors the work he has done . I got an appointment very quickly and his experienced professionals removed the cooling system from our roof today. I called on a Friday morning and they had someone available within an hour. My heater fan ran just about constantly and the flame only part of time. It would shut off an within about a minute it came back on. Joe was the repair technician who came. He explained the possible problems and the steps necessary to zero in on the solution. He checked with me with each thing he did and what the result was. He did the repair and I now have a furnace that works perfectly. He left everything clean before he left. I appreciated that he communicated with me to assure I understood what the cause was, as well as the solution. Amazing service! We have been having problems with our air conditioner for almost 3 months. Two different companies came to look at our system with one company making 4 visits to our home....and the issue remained unresolved. Joe from Total Air came in and within the hour, had our system running without any problems. He was able to detect what was wrong when two others had been unsuccessful. Total Air will be my new company from now on for service. If you have a newer generation thermostat, this is the company you want. One technician from another company almost ruined​ my Nest thermostat. The truth is not many technicians feel comfortable with these newer thermostats but Joe felt very comfortable working with our system. I wish I had called Total Air earlier! read more

In June under very hot and difficult conditions the guys at Total Aire put up our AC. but before they could they informed us that the duct work was totally rotted out. In record time they had a custom duct work made and were expert enough to make some modifications on the job to make it fit seamlessly,got the sheetrock man to put back the ceiling,replastered and painted to match the rest of the hall.The AC unit was put up with out a hitch and is working great. Both of our HVAC systems crashed at the same time. Just in time for a heat wave. Thought I might die. Money is tight and I was very highly stressed. Albert and his crew came in and found the problem. Then recommended replacing the systems as they were way old. Albert worked up a good deal and spelled out what was needed and what to expect. The work was quickly scheduled and completed as expected. My daughter was having a terrible time trying to get her A/C fixed earlier in June and her apartment complex kept on stalling and stalling making the repairs and giving her excuses and the runaround. Finally we took manners into our own hands because she could not sleep comfortably and would wake up soaking in sweat. Had to place a service call on our furnace yesterday which we purchased earlier this year when we converted from evaporative. We turned the furnace on for the first time and it would constantly go out and would not produce any heat. Excellent experience! Originally, I was told over the phone that there was no one available to service my AC by staff that was genuinely kind and understanding. An hour later, they called back because they had a last minute cancellation and arranged for Mike to stop by within 2 hours. He was friendly and knowledgeable and had the issue fixed in under 15 minutes (replaced a bad contacter causing no cool air to blow). There was an added weekend fee, but it's totally reasonable and still very affordable. High recommend Total Air! read more

Good service initially..,of course because it was new. Got installed in April 2019. Ran AC from April 2019 - Oct '2019 and from April '2020- Aug '2020 and equipment is literally falling apart. Total air says there is nothing they can do about it. My prior AC's ran for 12 years before they saw anything like this. My fault...I should've done a better job inspecting the work and the equipment before I signed off on anything. Now I'm stuck having to replace all the parts. Cheap equipment and no accountability. Mike came and immediately diagnosed the problem and told us up front without any up selling what needed to be done.
