Really good, fresh flour tortillas are harder to find than corn in Tijuana and most cities…read morethroughout Mexico. The exception might be in the northern state of Sonora which is known for excellent flour tortillas. For some reason there are a couple places here when in the Otay area for car repairs that I've spotted, though none of those I saw were added on Yelp with a search. Then suddenly Yelp did come through for me! Thanks Rosa!
I had noticed this one place down the road and read the single review it had, (in Spanish) and took a stroll down here while my daughter's car was getting her brakes checked. It was a walk up where you stand outside, an I picked up a what I thought was a dozen of tortillas but when I asked the guy had told me there were 20. This was the only option so 20 tortillas it was, and we knew it was too much but still made a bunch of soyrizo and egg burritos for morning breakfasts. Then bean and cheese burritos. Did have to give some away but only because we had too many. They would not be wasted! The real deal here. Awesome, light tasty tortillas, and I actually preferred the thinner texture they had with a slight elasticity and also weren't lard heavy! Which is sometimes the case.
These are Sinaloa style which is normally known for seafood and cartels but were some of the best I've ever had. I will be back for sure when in the Otay area of TJ without a doubt.
