Even though this restaurant is famous for their tortas, I opted for the filete a la tampiqueña. It tasted wonderful, and the platter had two enchiladas de mole, along with refried beans. My father ordered two tacos de bistek with cheese included. There was also a side of aguacate which he added to the tacos. The also offered some wonderful juices, and I chose the Jamaica juice. I love that drink. This restaurant is quite large with two levels, and an adjoining side patio. The food and service we're exceptional.

First I was feeling confident since the place is a established business/restaurant and not a place off the street, since I didn't want to try my luck and be disappointed. My order was a single torta and it was flavorless, it lack the "yum factor" and presentation Mexican cuisine is known for, just to later find out the ham had a grayish color and that wasn't a good sign, so after one bite I decided to stop eating it. The only great thing about my visit was the fact I was able to spot the meat color and avoid getting sick. Needless to say I was beyond disappointed, if your business talks about how long is being around and it's "well known" for one specific dish (tortas) but you fail to deliver on one single item, you might need to reconsider the quality of your products. Hopefully this will help other people and avoid getting sick or upset by not getting what you expected.

We only stopped here for quick bite during our CDMX food tour, but it was amazing. We had a wine…read moresampling and two of their bruschetta like cheese, meat, and baguette items. They tasted so fresh and flavorful. I know it sounds crazy, but try it with the spread that is made with crickets that they have on the table. It really added a nice touch to the sampling. Next time I am in town, I will definitely stop by for a full meal. The setting in the San Juan Market really adds to the experience.
