This is the go to place for Tortas by La Villa..!!! Anytime…read moreI'm visiting Mexico City and go see La Virgin de Guadalupe at la Basilica I always make sure to stop at this Torta place... My cousin who lives in Mexico city was the first to introduce us to this place since we were younger and have always gone back... They are famously known for their Tortas being so big... The last time we went we were feeling brave and ordered Their speciality which is a 3lb Torta that pretty much has every meat and cheese they offer at the restaurant... The torta is so big we couldn't even eat half of it between 2 people... It was really good so if you want a Torta that has more than a Cubana you definitely need to try their speciality Torta just bring a huge appetite or help.. Lol I've also tried their regular smaller Tortas and they have all been really good... I have been coming here for years so everytime I come I try to order something different...The Al pastor Torta and Milanesa are my top favorite, They also have their version of a Cubana which is also pretty big... They also give you a side of jalapeños with your order so if you want more you can ask for extra... Overall this is hands down my favorite Torta place by La Villa, its a far walk so you would have to get an uber or taxi to get there... The staff is very friendly, helpful and they keep the place clean and sanitary... They have a place to sit down & eat, clean restrooms and amazing Tortas... Definitely a must try if you want to try so amazing local Tortas

Big fan and would try the other flavors as well, and the other pastries look good. However, the chai here is absolutely flavorless. Felt like I was just drinking hot milk with a dash of spice but very little. Wouldn't get that again. I'll have to try another beverage another time.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this restaurant was still open after all of these…read moreyears. The last time that I was here was way back in 2015, and since that time, the place hasn't changed much really. The interior oftue restaurant is almost the same from when I remembered it. The menu itself also seemed to be pretty much identical. I ordered their special jievos ala revuelto along with a hochata drink. The breakfast was what I had expected and it seemed like one of the owners was actually doing the cooking. The eggs platter included beans and a bollito roll. The service was good, and nobody remembered me as I didn't expect them to. This restaurant is down Rio Sena so you may want to search it out before you go looking for it.

Admittedly the food was average to good, but one doesn't expect a 5 star chef at a neighborhood cafe/restaurant. This place tanked because of service. We had a group of 8 people, but it shouldn't be our of the ordinary. The first meal at our table was served a full 30 minutes before the last person got her meal. One person had ordered an appetizer with her meal. The appetizer came in middle of people getting meals, but her main course didn't come, as she said, "hasta dos meses despues!"

However, the personnel cannot care less for you. Almost like they were looking to serve regulars and not spontaneous shows. It surely feels like if they were looking down on you. Nevertheless they know they trade well, because they will push you to order the most expensive item on the menu for sure. Speaking of the menu, the breakfasts menu is well thought and on paper sound delicious. The plates come out very fast... suspiciously fast. I order Mexican Benedict eggs and they came out in less than five minutes. I know eggs Benedict do not take long to cook, but the egg yolk came out overcooked. Almost as if they had them already "poached" and just reheated in boiling water. The sauce was a good idea, mixing habanero with hollandaise, but besides the color, the sauce did not taste to habanero at all. So another fail. The house chips were good. The coffee uninspired, good, plain and simple. The pastry was also good but I was expecting more. It was kind of chewy and soft, when I was expecting crunchy and buttery. They reheated it for me (or kind of tried because it was still cold), and still it was only pasable with not enought filling This is not a too expensive place for breakfast, considering what they charge on their dinner menu. But it's definitely too expensive for the quality they offer. Around the corners are better places to have breakfast. So, came here only if you are looking for a nice place to sit and you don't care a lot about the food you eat.
