I usually stop by when I'm already in the area running errands and just need to get in and out. For quick transactions, deposits, or basic banking needs, it works perfectly. Now let me say this -- the staff here are super sweet and very friendly. They really do try to take care of customers in a prompt and professional manner. I've never had to handle any major financial matters here, but for everyday banking needs, they've been solid. They also have an ATM outside and a drive-through option, which is convenient if you don't feel like going inside or you're short on time. Overall, California Coast Credit Union is a great credit union with multiple locations throughout San Diego County, plus access to shared branch locations in certain areas. That flexibility is a big win for me because I can bank pretty much anywhere I am in the city. If you're on the fence about joining California Coast, don't be. If you're looking to establish checking, savings, or just want a reliable credit union with accessibility around town, they're definitely worth giving a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I heartily agree with Jeff B. who left an excellent review on Jun 1, 2024. There is NO drive-thru ATM. There are at least three ATMs indoors which are positioned in such as way as to look like you can scan your debit card to open the doors to access them and still not be inside the actual bank BUT you cannot access the ATMs. The ATM on other side of the building was non-functional meaning it was just a blank screen. While I was there, 3 people walked up to try and use it. This ATM is not conveniently located. In order to access it, you have to park either in the parking lot which is huge or park on the street at a metered location. My advice? If you are a Chase customer, go to a different location to do your business. There are still branches out there that have drive-thru.

I had an S-Corp that I ran for 27 years and an LLC that I ran for 10 years, and continued to run with a different banking institution. in 2025 I had a fraudulent check that they cashed for $5700 and refused to reimburse me even though I know they have insurance for this sort of thing. They insisted it was my fault because I didn't discovered it until four days later than there appropriate period of discovery.. After 27 years in business, I sold my company and closed my account. I still had my LLC account and would've liked to have Bill pay attached to my online banking. After many hours in the branch and on the phone, they were unable to accommodate that. They were also. unable to explain why they wouldn't accommodate that. After several phone calls and several un returned phone calls. I was fed up and went across the street to Chase Bank. Who opened a bank account with interest, a debit card, and Bill pay within 30 minutes. I would highly suggest that you do not do business with this bank. If you're in La Mesa go across the street to Chase. They will be more than happy to accommodate you. California bank and trust has no interest in customer service whatsoever. I closed my account in five minutes without even single question of why I was closing it and this was not an insignificant amount of funds. Please do not trust this place with your money.
