torre de la calahorra or "calahorra tower" is a tower that was built in the 12th century in efforts to protect the roman bridge (which connects torre de la calahorra with the puerta del puente/gate of the bridge). it is an important historic site in the city of cordoba, but unfortunately, we did not have a chance to go inside since we arrived during their daily siesta (a custom in espana where local businesses close for 1-3 hours in the middle of the day). so instead, we walked around this tower, snapping photos, and taking a closer look at the external walls of this landmark. tip: walk towards the tower after sunset and you can see the tower lit up against the roman bridge, which makes for a beautiful picture. read more
