So reasonable the some may be put off by the "Cafeteria Snack Bar" atmosphere. There is pleasant seating in the plaza across the street which is nicer than the more cramped area immediately in front of the restaurant. Rest assured, it is a real restaurant and good for dinner. Huge menu, including pizzas, menu del dia, some English-oriented things and some tapas, I believe. Service is great. Vin de la casa was only about E$6 per bottle, so we tried both...hey, we're walking home!

As an American, I certainly wasn't really seeking that in Spain. One guy working there was from from Ohio, but I believe that one of the owners is from California. Like most restaurants on Menorca, this place caters to English tastes, so most of the American food had an English twist, and served in Spain. Kind of bizarre to me actually. I wasn't at all pleased to see Budweiser on the menus, but I guess Europeans might think that's cool. Very few vegetarian options: a veggie burger (which I had), "jackets," which we call baked potatoes, and one other option, I recall. Service was very pleasant and thoughtful. Food quality was OK. I'm not sure, but I may have gotten a bit sick from mayonnaise that wasn't chilled properly. All in all, not a bad option in Cala'n Porter.
