Express Lube and Car Care - Richland Hills, TX Address: 7932…read moreGlenview Dr, Richland Hills, TX Disappointing Experience: Unauthorized Oil Change Upgrade and Unexpected $41 Charge I had a very disappointing experience at Express Lube and Car Care in Richland Hills. I purchased a Groupon for a conventional oil change for my Honda CR-V, but instead of performing the service I purchased, they performed a synthetic oil change without informing me beforehand or obtaining my approval. To make matters worse, I was charged an additional $41 after the $20 Groupon discount. I was not given the opportunity to approve or decline the change in service before the work was performed. This is unacceptable. If the shop believed my vehicle needed synthetic oil, they should have explained why, disclosed the additional cost, and allowed me to decide whether I wanted to pay for the upgrade. No business should make that decision on a customer's behalf and charge them without first obtaining their consent. My concern is not simply the difference between conventional and synthetic oil. It is the lack of communication, transparency, and respect for my right to approve the services performed on my vehicle. I purchased a Groupon for a specific service, and I expected to be consulted before any changes were made. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied with their customer service. I believe customers deserve to know exactly what work will be performed and what they will be charged before the work begins. I would like an explanation for why the oil change was switched to synthetic without my approval and why I was charged an additional $41. I also believe this situation deserves to be addressed appropriately. I strongly encourage anyone considering this location to confirm the exact service and total cost before authorizing any work. Customers deserve honesty, clear communication, and the right to make their own decisions about their vehicles and their money.

He tightened everything up, explained the issue, and didn't even charge me for it. I really appreciate the honesty and professionalism. A lot of places could have tried to sell me on repairs I didn't need, but they were straightforward and helpful. Great customer service and definitely earned my trust. Highly recommend!

Was going to be over $500 for everything he suggested. I passed. Went home. Checked all that for myself. Brake Fluid? Clean. Picture of my "nasty" brake fluid needing changed attached. Compressor absolutely turns on. I can HEAR IT. Didnt bother checking power steering because so far all ive seen is confirmed lies. Basically, if youre willing to be ripped off, these are the guys to go to. Theyre gonna drain your clean brake fluid AND your wallet all in under an hour.

I took my car to Kwik Kar for a routine oil change and had no complaints about the oil change…read moreitself. However, afterward I was given an estimate for **$914** for a valve cover gasket, ignition coils, and spark plugs after being told that my car was currently leaking oil. I was surprised because I had not noticed any issues with my car, and I take very good care of it and keep up with regular maintenance. I drove the car home so my father could take a look at it, and he was unable to find anything concerning that matched what I had been told at Kwik Kar. Since my car had just reached 100,000 miles, he went ahead and replaced the spark plugs as routine maintenance, which cost approximately $150. As a 25-year-old woman with very limited knowledge about cars, I left this experience feeling completely taken advantage of. I understand that vehicles sometimes need repairs, but recommending nearly $1,000 in repairs when I had no symptoms and when a second look did not reveal the issues described to me is extremely concerning. I expect honesty and transparency from a business, especially when customers may not have the knowledge to question a recommended repair. This experience was unacceptable, and I will not be returning.

Save your time and find better service somewhere else. It was cheaper than everywhere else in the…read morearea, but they did not actually fix anything. I took my 2010 Nissan Armada back twice and they still did not repair it, so I wasted my time and money. They pretended like they did and were dishonest. Another mechanic shop afterwards showed me where they did not repair. My family has used this place before also and they took months to repair their minor service requests on their Ford Explorer. They also did not repair it correctly the first time either. My father put marks on some parts in the vehicle to see if they would actually get replaced, and he got his vehicle returned with the marks in the same place meaning they were not replaced at all. They are very dishonest. One of the times I was there, the employees were arguing with a neighboring business over parking. The people here are not very friendly, have a dirty office and waiting area, do not repair your vehicle sometimes and are dishonest about doing so, and you will waste a lot of time here. I highly recommend spending slightly more money for way better quality of service somewhere else locally.
