My dog usually gets really anxious going to the vet but ever since we switched to Dr. Augustine, he's no longer scared of his appointments. That gives me so much comfort. My previous vet near my downtown condo had me looking to switch vets and I landed on Apple Creek. I've dealt with several of their vets here, most recently Dr. Augustine, and they've all been very helpful and listened to my concerns, and responded professionally and appropriately. I originally switched since they have more reasonable prices for feline dental. Unfortunately for one of my cats, her pre-dental bloodwork led the team to conclude that she likely had cancer. They worked tirelessly to get my cat an appt at the OVC in Guelph where they were able to treat her in the short-term and get the final diagnosis. A note that they stopped accepting new clients in December. This doesn't include new pets for pre-existing clients. The staff here speak English, Cantonese, and I believe Mandarin also.

They hung up on me while I was talking and were disrespectful. I told them that you are my son's doctor. You should know what this medicine was that you gave my son. He said it has nothing to do with us. The people who worked there two years ago were much better than the people who came now. These are the people who came to work here, uncultured, impersonal. I mean, I'm telling you, dear people, dear friends, whenever you take your dog there, check everything because these are not honest people and they don't know what they're doing. I came out from his exam room in a complete shock and fear and almost cried. My cat was 1 year old, absolutely normal cat, healthy looking. However, he recommended me to buy insurance asap right through his clinic , mentioning that he would not mention about kidney condition in the application to get better quote. Since i had a feeling that it was a scam this vet used to sign up people for this particular insurance company, I went for second opinion about "one kidney condition" . And sure enough, another vet confirmed that my cat was healthy. He is now 6 years old. It was disgraceful and terrible to lie and make up the disease and scare the pet owners. I hope that particular vet is no longer there.

This week, my…read morefamily and I tried to place an order for Hill's Metabolic Feline food for our 18 year old cat, something we have been purchasing from this vet clinic every month for 10+ years. However, this time Dr. Eve Cheung refused to let my family purchase the food. She arbitrarily decided that because my cat hasn't been seen for a checkup in recent years he can no longer be prescribed this food. As a result, my cat will no longer have access to the food that keeps him healthy. Not only was Dr. Cheung uncompassionate, she was unreasonable and unprofessional. First, we were given no warning or notice that our cat would be cut off from his food if he was not seen for a checkup. Second, she gave no other feasible alternatives. She expected us to either bring in our cat for a checkup or be seen by the mobile vet. Normally, this would be reasonable, but during the deadliest PANDEMIC of the past century? She either lacks compassion or common sense, or both. Finally, she was not willing to find a compromise. She was not willing to allow my cat to at least have some of his food to tie him over to a time where it would be more reasonable to have a checkup--she blatantly cut him off and offered no alternative (When we asked her, she was not able to tell us any other cat food we could buy). In summary, Dr. Cheung and Cachet Village Animal Hospital prioritize profits over the health and well-being of pets. Simply put, she was willing to cut off my 18 year old cat from his prescription food at the height of the pandemic. Sure, small businesses everywhere are hurting right now, but that is never an excuse to lower your professional standards, coerce your clients into booking appointments, and harm our pets in the process.

Hello all, I want to share our experience with Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital. We had taken our…read moredog in to see Dr. Dewey because of seizures he was having. Dr. Kevin Dewey gave us a consultation and did blood work that he suggested, a cost of ($420.00) The result after the blood came back did show low white blood cell platelets that he said was ok ,sent him home and said if it this happens more often bring him back. Our dog had another seizure about two weeks later, so we decided to have a second opinion. Another Doctor that we went to did the same blood work which came back with the same results as Dr. Dewey. This doctor reviewed Dr. Dewey's blood test as well and said there is something very wrong with your dog and we should do a parasite test. We of course agreed and said please go ahead, the blood test came back positive for parasites and now he is taking medication and showing great results of it working. He will be taking this medication for one month to get rid of the parasites. We asked Dr. Dewey why he didn't tell us that there was a problem that he saw and look further into it after the test showing the low white blood cell platelets at the same time it came back. He said that his machine may have not worked properly and this may be why the white blood platelets were low. He said he also looked under a microscope and thought everything was fine. When we returned and questioned him, asked why he didn't suggest doing another test at that moment after seeing something was not normal. His answer was because he didn't want to charge us more money to look further. I said this is not his job to make that decision without giving us the choice first. When asking questions further he looked like he was hiding his mistakes in medical terms about other things that could happen so it would not look like he made that wrong decision, instead of being accountable for the the decision he made. I want others to hear our experience with Dr. Dewey so they are aware with their pets with the experience we had.. Our pet means the world to us and am so glad we went to see another Doctor that saved our pets life.

I have been taking my pup here for a few years as I wanted a veterinary service that my pup could grow into her senior years with, someone I could trust and rely on. From the my experience was lukewarm, I knew they were expensive but over the years I've become more and more aware that this veterinary service has lost their moral compass and ultimately it is all about the money. Last week I called to inquire if I could get assistance with clipping my pets dew claw. Due to the pandemic and the current lockdowns, all grooming services are closed and I thought I could turn to my vet for assistance to cut her dew claw. I called and spoke with Jennifer (receptionist) and told her I needed some help in trimming my pups dew claw. She advised she would call me back with the cost. I received a voicemail message from Jennifer at the end of the day, just before closing, the message was left ever so politely on my voicemail. She (Jennifer) advised that the cost of clipping my pups dew claw would be between $500-$600, starting at $300 for sedation. When I heard the cost of getting assistance in clipping her dew claw I couldn't stop laughing ... and after further thought became so disgusted and disappointed with this vet. It is unfortunate that this veterinarian service has become soooo greedy over the years, knowing that we are in the middle of a pandemic and all grooming services are closed due to government shutdowns, it's unfortunate to know that this veterinarian is NOT a vet you can count on in these extreme times and they are taking full advantage of their customers by gouging for services and utilizing the pandemic closures to the extreme. It is unfortunate that they have lost their moral compass along the way, its no longer about the care of animals ... its about making a buck and in this case BIG bucks! Thankfully, NOT from me!!!!!!! Here is a photo of her dew claw as I got the courage to clip it myself after receiving their cost .... I googled how to videos, took a day or two to get the courage to do it myself and thankfully it took me all of 2 seconds to clip them myself. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere if you're in the process of looking for a caring and compassionate veterinarian service because Bayview Hill Animal Hospital's main focus is all about the dollar $$$$$. If anyone knows of a veterinary service that is not so disgustingly greedy I would be grateful if you could provide me with their information. SHAME ON YOU ... BAYVIEW HILL ANIMAL HOSPITAL ... SHAME ON YOU!!!

When I got him home he hid and wouldn't come out. It's been three days of me scrubbing him to get the grease off but there's no change. I'm going to have to wash him everyday until this comes out.
