Topçu Kebap was recommended to us by a former Turkish expat who was also a chef at a Michelin star restaurant.... sooo we gladly agreed to give this place a shot. Also, we were in a fairly large group; 10 of us, if I remember correctly. They had no issues seating all of us, just not together, we took up 3 tables in the back. The venue was a decent size, with a healthy amount of seating.
Like most places in Turkey, heck actually Europe, the AC was not the greatest It was still a bit warm inside, but we were all glad to be out of sweltering summer heat. The service was fine, food came out in a timely manner. I don't speak Turkish so any communication was a little challenging. I felt a lot of people here didn't speak English as much as some other European countries.
#Kebap:
~ Döner kebab- 5/5
The shaved meat was excellent. I thought it was lamb...lol.Tender, Juicy, good flavor and no gaminess. I didn't realize it was Veal until later.
~ Tahinli Piyaz (Bean Salad) - 4.5/5
The white fava beans with the sauce was brilliant.
~ çoban salata ( Mixed Salad) - 4.5/5
I use the bread from the plate to dip into the pomegranate juice or salad dressing at the end
A very affordable meal. Our total came out to $20 per person.
No frills, just solid tasty food. Probably one of the best meals we had on the trip... read more
