She won my case in which I was originally denied. She had patience due to my poor memory. She always assured me that I will be ok during my court appearance. I felt like the load was off my back and on hers. Mark, I got to know later. He was nice and patiently answered all my questions and answered all my calls. I would recommend anyone. They are awesome. I won! Thank you, Shaveena H.

Kim was the paralegal who collected and processed my documentation. I appreciated having a primary point of contact prior to the proceeding. I never had a problem getting through to them, and anytime I left a voice mail message, it was returned in a timely manner. Lauren was the attorney who represented me in court. She was fantastic. I felt she was empathetic to what I was going through emotionally, and instrumental in helping me convey what I struggle with to the judge. I found her presence at the virtual proceeding very reassuring. I could not have done it without her. Marc, the attorney who owns and runs the practice, was a godsend, as well. He saw my case through to the end, and went above and beyond to get answers and help move things along. He was always communicative, cordial and easy to talk to. It's clear to me that everybody at Shipon cares (not only) about reaching a positive outcome for their clients, but also for their client's wellbeing. If you're looking for reputable lawyers to handle your disability claim, you can't go wrong with Shipon Law Associates. My claim was approved. Thank you so much Marc. Laura, Kim, and Brian!

    Derek R Layser Attorney

I approached Derek Layser of Friedman Schuman Attorney At Law legal firm out of 101 Greenwood…read moreAvenue, Suite 500. Jenkintown, PA 19046. The malpractice gall bladder surgery that went badly in September, 2017 performed at Geisinger Medical Center, 100 Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822, by a Dr. Mohanbabu Alaparthi, MD. The surgery literally ruined my life. A surgery that was supposed to be a 1 or 2 day stay, turned into a month (the first time). After that I endured an additional 11 procedures at Geisinger to attempt to fix what they botched all failed. I was left with a hole leaking bile and biliary fluid from a large hole in my abdomen. I also had recurrent infections. It was obvious the surgeons at Geisinger had no clue as to how to fix the problem. Then in December 2018, I was sent home with the surgeon handling my case pronouncing, "There is nothing more we can do for you," and they sent me home completely septic with a 103 degree fever. I was dying. The next day, after a visiting Geisinger nurse said, "You are a very sick man and belong in the hospital," my reply was, "I just came from the damn hospital!" She called my surgeon's office at Danville, and after she explained my issues, they hung up on her! I wasn't going to die like that, so I contacted Penn Medical Center in Philadelphia and requested to speak with a surgeon. Getting their office on the line, I asked for their best surgeon, explaining my life-threatening issues. They said that a Dr. Stephen Raper was the guy, and I was given an appointment right away. My wife drove me to Philly, where i met with Dr. Raper, and he correctly diagnosed me in 5 minutes! He said he'd admit me that day, and operate the next, explaining, "Your fistulas aren't the problem, they are a symptom, and you have a raging infection in your abdomen. We need to operate immediately." i told him I thought I was dying, and he did not answer me. So the next day they operated, and they found not only an abdominal abcess the size of my fist, but also two star shaped metal stents that Geisinger attempted to use to stop my bile leakage and left behind! Even after multiple X-rays and cat scans, Geisinger missed them all! I have a snapshot of me on the surgical table, cut open like a Christmas turkey, and Dr, Raper's hand holding the stents in a forceps. He took the picture using his iPhone and he sent it of mine! This began a long serious of procedures, 12 more stays in and out of the Philly hospital. In between I kept developing infections, some of which as bad as the first, and I had to be life flighted to Philly at a cost of $15,000 from our home in Williamsport, PA. Fast forward to 2020, after many operations and procedures totaling over a million dollars. I went under general anesthesia 23 times in total. Somewhere along the way, I experienced a total of three "mini-strokes" confirmed via MRI. It left me with a permanent deficit in my balance , equilibrium and coordination. I supplied Layser with over 1,500 pages of documents on CD-ROM well before the statute of limitations. After many promises which he all broke, the unthinkable happened. Derek Layser literally disappeared. He stopped returning my emails and phone calls. I was in a panic, seeing the date of statute of limitations approaching. I called every office that Freidman Schuman had, and left increasingly urgent, exasperated messages with the receptionists and paralegals. No one called me back. Finally, with only two months left till the deadline, I caught him in the office and he answered the phone. I angrily demanded an update on my case. He sheepishly said, "Well, we have been really busy, but we gave your case files to our "medical expert" and they thoroughly reviewed it and determined that your case would be too costly and difficult to litigate, probably over $20,000." I was enraged, saying, "Yea, I bet he 'thoroughly reviewed it'...You don't think you could have told me that months ago?" He pathetically apologized and wished me, "Good luck." And hung up the phone. I was crushed. The lying, incompetent bastard cost me any hope of winning a very winnable case. I have been left by my ordeal permanently disabled and unable to work, literally destitute. And he just keeps going down his happy road, oblivious to my pain and suffering. He didn't give a shit, and neither did his associates at Friedman Schuman. I have since come to the conclusion that lawyers are thieves, crooks and liars. They sit in their fancy offices, having their paralegals screen cases, looking for a chance they might actually get the case of the ten-year-old kind run over by a dump truck. That way, they can easily get their 40% 0f $20,000,000 and play golf at the local country club. May he burn in hell.
