What an amazing experience - my friend from Louisiana hooked this one up - I didn't even know such a thing existed. You show up at a trailer park in Leeville at 8PM, get on an awesome custom air boat and head out into the swamp. Note that everyone on the boat is armed with a compound bow complete with very sharp modified arrow with string attached to reel it back in. Also note that everyone on the boat has probably been drinking all day and will continue to drink all night - the only rule, no hard alcohol allowed. :) Surprisingly, no one in our party was injured or killed and managed to retain sight in both eyes. We did tear up the fish though, shooting sheephead and large redfish. Technically, you can shoot at whatever you want, but I don't want to kill anything I'm not going to eat. The aiming is a bit difficult, but you'll start to get the hang of it pretty quickly. Our group bagged about 20 fish in 5 hours, including a 30" redfish. Awesome experience - highly recommended. Dress in layers - it was pretty cold as the evening went on and you will cover a lot of swamp area. Bring cash or a check - no credit cards. Bathroom is off the side of the boat - they accommodated the ladies by turning off all the lights. The guides known this area very well and will put you on the fish.

A day opened up in my schedule and Captain Joeys schedule but I would have to bring along my daughter with us, I thought she might be a little to young. Captain Joey insisted it would be fine. My son(9 years old), my daughter(6 years old) and I headed South to Leeville,LA from Mississippi. We headed out early the next morning. Before leaving Captain Joey discussed what was expected of as far as safety which was very important to me because of my young kids. Throughout the day my kids and I both made memories we will never forget. Did I mention this was my kids first time fishing in anything other than freshwater. My son and daughter both caught their first red fish and trout, and many more after their 1st. One thing that really impressed me with Captain Joey and will make me a repeat customer for many more years to come was his passion. He was probably just as excited as me to see the kids experience their first Red Fish and Trout. He was all about helping the kids and also taking the time to teach the kids. He talked to them about how to hook a shrimp, what he looks for when picking a spot to fish, how to take the hook out and why you should never stick your finger in a saltwater fishes mouth(my son tried this on his first one) good thing Captain Joey was watching. By the end of the trip my daughter insisted that she should be baiting her own hook, Joey looked at me for approval and I gave the go ahead. She hooked her first shrimp perfect thank to Captain Joey. I think she was also convinced that the she was the Captain by the end of the trip also. We ordered shrimp gumbo, bronzed shrimp, a shrimp platter, a shrimp salad and an oyster po-boy. The shrimp gumbo was very good. Although it was a only a cup, it had a good amount of large shrimp. The shrimp platter was very good as well. The shrimp were butterflied (I prefer non-butterflied) and fried perfectly. The platter came loaded with fries and four pieces of toast. The shrimp salad had homemade ranch which was excellent. The bronzed shrimp and po-boy both looked good, but I didn't try either. Our server seemed disinterested and never brought some of our party utensils. She wasn't very friendly either. The food made up for the poor service. If your in Chauvin, and want a good seafood meal, head to Sportsman's paradise. I should also mention that they sell really cool t-shirts. Planned a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico out of Grand Isle, LA for my hubby. Our Captain, Don, and first mate, Miles, made the trip enjoyable and catered to our every desire. The mate even entertained me, the wife, with some local history of the island. We caught fish ALL DAY LONG. Red Snappers and Mangrove filled the box and we reeled in three Sharks and a few Amber Jacks. The catch was steady and the company was good. The captain stuck to our agreed upon fee and we tipped the mate at the end of the day. They also cleaned and bagged our fish and took pictures for us! I would recommend this charter service to anyone who is planning a trip from afar. We traveled from Pennsylvania. They were dependable and made it a great day...the weather was gorgeous too, but I don't think they had any control over that :)

Went on a marsh fishing trip with my group of 4 with captain eric in July 2022. We had the best…read moretime catching speckled trout. The action never stopped that we didn't even get a chance to stop and eat our snacks ! Half of us were complete beginners and didn't even know how to properly cast while the other half had some experience. We all had a great time and we're reeling in keepers. We caught about 71 trout. I live in a landlocked state where shrimp is far more expensive and not nearly as fresh. We got our shrimp in the afternoon, it had been caught earlier that day.
