As a ex pat returning to home to Australia I gave this salon a call to confirm the price before driving there and I really didn't have much of an idea of what it would cost, I asked on the phone for a quote to have my gel nail polish removed on my finger and toe nails and then get a new plain colour on both my finger and toe nails. I was originally quoted only $25 while on the phone and questioned the staff member if this was correct as it seemed way too cheap to me. I repeated the above service request and was told this time it would be $45. Still thinking this was not correct I once again repeated my request and was reconfirmed at $45. I then asked if I could make an appointment to which the staff member said, just come in anytime. I was there within an hour and once at the salon I told them what I wanted and told them I was quoted $45 to which they responded yes have a seat. I was at the salon for 1hr 45mins, extremely long considering it has never taken more than 45mins in any other salon I have ever visited and had 5 different people "work" on the gel removal and replacement. I was ask by every single staff member what colour I wanted repeatedly although I had chosen this when I very first sat down. I asked staff member number 3 to please cut my toenails as short as possible (she was only filing them down) to which her response was to walk off in a huff! I ended up happily using the clippers to cut them myself and waited another 15 mins for a different person to come back and attend to me. The gel polish ended up painted over my cuticles and when I asked kindly if staff member number 4 and 5 could please remove it their reactions were simply unprofessional. I kept smiling through all this and just thought to myself that I had chosen a dud salon I that I wouldn't go back again in the future...but then it came time to pay. I handed over the $45 and the "manager" said no and it will be $61.. I repeated to her the above circumstances and to my horror she started yelling and threatening me. She threatened to call security and was extremely intimidating. I had left my mobile phone in my car and wanted to go and get it to show her the time I had called the salon so she could figure out who had originally misquoted me twice..but that just led to more threats and her yelling. As I am not a natural complainer and like to resolve situations rather than argue I suggested that we come to an agreement and she gave me a 10% discount so I ended up paying $55. The point here is not the amount I paid but their absolutely atrocious customer service and the quality of the gel nail application,cutting and filing of my nails. I wear rubber gloves when washing dishes etc and then gel has started peeling off after only 3 days. First time in 10 years or so that my gel polish hasn't lasted at least a good 2 weeks if not up to 3! I strongly recommend not patronising this business. Good luck folks read more
