Absolutely the best bakery in Wynnum by far. Fabulous bread and buns. Lately, I have been a fan of their very fresh sandwiches but stay away from the fresh cream lamingtons. They are far too yummy and fatening. Steve Wotherspoon read more

Perrett's has been an institution in Wynnum for over 40 years and makes the best pies. My…read morefavourites are the prawn mornay and curry. They also make the traditional chunky beef, steak and tomato, chicken and veg etc. and they clearly know what they're doing. Sometimes we buy a family pie to share for lunch - it will feed four easily - and have been known to buy a bunch of mini sausage rolls to take to parties. There's also a great range of cakes, including the traditional grandma's favourites, like sand cake, Napolean cake and French vanilla slice. Yum!
It can be hard to find a good old meat pie these days. Between all the hype you hear from the media…read moreabout dodgy meat scams and eating healthy, sometimes all I want is a comforting, easy meat pie. Fortunately Perrett's pies are fantastic. The fillings are delicious, no matter what type you get. I like the steak and tomato and I like being able to actually taste the ingredients, unlike some places that mash it all in together and you're not sure what you are eating. Best pies in the area.

I'm a Wynnum gal and had every birthday growing up punctuated by the sweet taste of a Coralie's…read moreCakes & Cappuccino Sandcake. Now I am an adult I can indulge at any time! People go crazy over Coralie's Sandcake. I've made the journey out to Wynnum several times to buy this monument to tradition and sugar, always struggling against my will to not eat it the second it's in my hands. This is a stand out bakery as everything is delicious and it's has a kind of hard work, vintage, old Australian kind of charm about it. Quite like the whole of Wynnum in a sense. Or it could just be from the ladies behind the counter! They're full of tough love but sometimes they'll give you a wink and it feels like snow in Summer. Coralie's C&C's head baker Glen is to thank for keeping this place authentic. I have been told that Glen started as an apprentice baker when Coralie's opened in 1978. 30+ years on and he now captains the ship! I've met him a few times and I can tell you he's very passionate about his work. Thank you Wynnum for having such fine bakeries, bakeries worth driving for, I don't know why, but they always renew my soul. It's probably the sugar high isn't it?

There are heaps of varieties - you'll know the usual suspects - chunky beef and bacon, pepper, chicken curry, beef and tomato, etc. I knew they tasted great but just discovered yesterday when talking to one of the local business women that they get their meat from the busy butcher a few doors down. We like the meat from this fellow too, so now I feel even better about these pies, knowing they are made from great ingredients.

On the tables out front there's always a good selection of bun loaves and savoury bread loaves, scones and cakes, but that's not all... inside the counters, not only is the bread good, but it's a great place to buy a huge, stacked, salad roll or sandwich. In winter the pies are hard to resist too after a walk along the windy harbour.

Although I find it hard to keep up with all the different varieties of things needed for people with different food requirements, one of my relatives actually does need to eat gluten free. I like to do a weekend run for pies here and pick up some bread if I need some. The location is really convenient for me and I have never had a problem getting a park. The bakery has an old-fashioned feel but in a good way. Knowledgeable staff, fresh bread and family owned.
