DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had to file a claim for fraud against Josef and his business. I recently was in touch with Josef for homeowner's insurance, but decided NOT to work with him because of his unprofessionalism, so I contacted Nationwide directly. During the escrow process, Josef got ahold of my insurance policy and altered the original invoice that Nationwide submitted to my mortgage lender. He altered the area where my annual premium was disclosed, and made it a higher price, resubmitting an altered invoice. After my mortgage lender paid Top 1 Insurance directly (the altered invoice) Josef then paid Nationwide only a partial amount (the actual quoted price by Nationwide) and tried to pocket the rest! When I confronted him over the phone, and showed up at Top 1 Insurance with the original invoice from nationwide and the altered copy from Top 1 Insurance, he had the nerve to say those were agency fees!! Hundreds of dollars in agency fees! Nationwide's fraud investigator told him any agency fees have to be itemized and disclosed, not made to appear as if they are part of the annual premium. Therefore, it is confirmed that Josef intentionally committed FRAUD! I unfortunately did not catch this discrepancy in price on time, but I was able to get my money refunded, Josef had no choice since I filed a police report. I am also pursuing this any way that I can so other people don't fall victim to his fraud. read more

DO NOT join with Top One unless you want to be ignored, forgotten or scammed. I had been with Top One for a few years and I had no issues....UNTIL i decided to cancel. I canclled with Joseph in August and he said no problem he will cancel but never did so and I kept getting charged every month despite having moved on to another insurance company (I was double paying). Everytime I called I was told he was not there or not avaialble and they would make sure he called me back (he never would). In late November I finally put my foot down and asked for cancellation documentation, and then FINALLY it was given to me. Joseph confirmed I would not be charged again. Only to see I was in fact charged again for December! Meaning this was NOT cancelled, I am expecting a refund but no longer have patience for this company. I am very disspointed in their service. There was a misunderstanding regarding ending a policy with Nationwide and being assigned to a new company (Travelers) without expecting to be reassigned and charged. I had asked my husband to handle it over the phone, I had to jump on and was very hard on Joseph for about 5-10 minutes. He was very professional and answered questions about every concern I had, I ended up staying on as a customer and appreciate the time and effort Joseph put in to adjust my quote and find the best fit for our situation. RATING I did receive 5 star customer service from Joseph BUT I did think about leaving 4 stars on the review because I believe the process of changing companies can be made more clear (I suggest calling the customer and confirming over the phone instead of just notifying via mail before charging). read more

I am updating my review to 2 stars due to the lack of customer service once you request/cancel your policy. I called earlier this month to Cancel my policy. Joseph sent me the electronic form to sign which I did immediately. I retained a copy for my records out of a gut feeling. I've been patiently waiting for my refund and today (considering it's been about 3 weeks) I decided to call and get a time frame because I know that reimbursements take about 30-45 days. I was told by Joseph to call the insurance carrier directly which I did and was informed by the insurance carrier that the cancellation request was never received I now have to resend a request with a copy of my new insurance dec page in order for them to backdate and reimburse me the prorated premium due back to me. I just think it's totally unprofessional as an insurance broker to be so careless with my cancellation request and so unwilling to be the middle person and call my carrier on my behalf to get status (which is the job of a broker/agent). All in all I urge anyone that if you have a decent driving record please go elsewhere and even if you don't have a decent driving record I'm sure you can find another agent with proper business etiquette. I needed to change insurance since they wanted me to go in person and make the changes we we're stuck paying for a car we didn't own anymore a total headache. And I really didn't want to start contacting insurance companies and going through the process of giving you a good quote and at the end having a slightly higher price I just don't appreciate that. But Joseph was not only fast and effective but the 1st quote he gave me was not only kept but was actually even better and at the end we are now paying $50 less a month than what I paid for the last 2- 3 years! Wow imagine what I could of done with those $600+ a year of savings. I just regret not shopping for insurance sooner. If you think you can get a better price and or service I dare you to compare and see the difference at the end you might just save some extra bucks and minutes in an office since everything was done over the phone in the comfort of my house.
