I…read morehaven't figured out their "speciality" yet, but it's easy enough to reserve materials and have them brought to this branch. Holds from other branches vary in the time they take to show up, but if it's available at the time you reserve it, it doesn't take but 48-72 hours to show up at Herriman's branch. Most of the libraries are phenomenal - super helpful, personable, and knowledgable. There are one or two I've encountered who are super quick to add fees to your library account (like when I pointed out a children's book had damage that we didn't do, she tried to charge me for the book) but they're the rare exception. We loved all the precautionary measures this branch did during COVID to make patrons feel safer. It was like Christmas when they opened up curbside pickup during COVID and like coming home when they opened their doors again. We love our public library!

Another cool feature outside is the skateboards and scooter parking with locks. When I was growing up all my local library had was books! My how things change. When you walk into the new and improved library you are welcomed by the library staff which then opens to a huge open space with big bright windows. Not the small cramped dark library of yesterday... Classes are also available and change monthly along with author book readings. Actually they is so much to enjoy I can't put it all in a review. Go check it out for yourself. It's open. One last thing, this branch (like West Jordan's) has the automatic check in so you don't have to wait for someone to check in your items, especially if they are due that day.

The County Library system has outdone itself this time-this library is one that puts all others to…read moreshame. This one just opened and has so much more than books. Of course, there are tons of those too-and they are all brand new. Here you'll find that each shelf is individually lighted. There are sections for adult, teen and children and everything is clearly marked, making it easy to find whatever you're looking for. If you still need help, there are several staff members eager to assist. There is a "Create" space that has sewing machines, 3-D printers, vinyl cutters, sergers, a bike repair shop and even a music recording studio. You can reserve those through a staff member, not online. However you can reserve meeting or study rooms online-all for free! When the weather is nice, you might find me reading a book out on the rooftop patio. There's shade provided by the solar panels (which help to power the library BTW) and plenty of seating for people to hang out.

A sweet little neighborhood library…read more It's compact, cute, quiet and well-kept. There is a gorgeous little courtyard out front with tons of shade and the library itself is set way back, making it feel like a secret clubhouse. There isn't a huge selection of books, but those they have on hand seem designed to catch the essence of their respective categories. There are thousands of DVDs, way more than I'd expect. Most of these are... Less than watchable B-movies.... but there's always the online reservation system between libraries. Currently 9th in line for Game of Thrones season 1! The have a couple hundred foreign films as well. There is a very small play area for kids and tons of kids books. There's also a teen room, study room and conference room. The men's bathroom is of the single serve variety and there's a changing station in there. Love this little library. I look forward to making it a regular stop on walks through the neighborhood, and taking in shows like magic, story-time and puppetry for Jr.

First of all Starbucks is 3 dollars on average more expensive for a coffee than the marketplace, this is especially important for college kids who are studying all the time and need some caffeine and they don't have time to work all time so they are broke. Not to mention the food is wayyyy cheaper and affordable, especially for a small snack. NO one wants a 10 dollar 1 square inch breakfast sandwhice. bullshit. Second, the marketplace is quick! it took me about 5 min to walk down to the marketplace from anywhere, get what I want, and be drinking my coffee with a snack in my hand heading back to actual important shit. Starbucks has this stupid mobile order, so not only if you walk up and order something that will take 10 min to get on its own, theres 20 fucking people in front of you with orders of their own. I walked up to a nice lady and asked how long she had been waiting and she had said half an hour and still counting and she mobile ordered.might as well just fucking DoorDash a coffee. It kind of had a venerable look when I attended the school more than a half decade ago. It now looks like it has caught up with the times. The interior was modern with a computer lab on the first floor. Spent a lot of time here for projects and homework. Now it seems more cozy and even a better place to study, though that lab is gone I see. Perhaps a change of the times given the laptop/mobile/Internet world we live in. Still the printed word holds academic resonance and Marriott is the place to gather that material.

I think it's amazing that we have this free place to take kids when it's too hot or cold to play outside and they can play with blocks, crayons, a play kitchen and food, and of course books! What an amazing little gem. I've tried the Taylorsville branch which is a little "nicer" but doesn't have the play area like this. It really is amazing. This branch also offer free meals to school aged kids at different t times throughout the week, and you always see people of all ages here using the different services. Libraries are the BEST!

I never leave reviews but I was so upset by my visit today that a review felt necessary. I went to…read moresee if I had a library card and the lady at the help desk told me I didn't and showed me how to apply. After filling out the lengthy application I went to the card desk to find out I had a card 14 years ago when I was a minor and it had a balance. The lady at card desk then asked the manager on duty and if they could set me up on an informal payment plan. She approved the plan and they left a note on my account stating so. I went back a few hours later to see a new staff. One of which was stating they were the supervisor. I stated that I had to check out with an attendant due to a balance owed, that I was on a payment plan and they said I could still check out during that time. She stated that I would not be checking out anything until the amount due was under $25. That is not what I was told by their morning managers. She was very rude and after me explaining multiple times she eventually said "did you even pay anything today?" I said I did and she very rudely stated I could check out 1 book only and that would be the only book I check out until the bill is under $25. I understand that there are policies in place but those were not previously stated to me. I did not appreciate the fact that she was not nice or welcoming at all and had a big attitude problem. I don't see how we're encouraged to go to libraries and use our local resources when there are people like this running them. It would be nice if everyone were on the same page. Most likely won't be returning to this location even though it's closest to me, I don't appreciate being spoken to like that especially in front of others. I hope she's nicer to her employees.
