I would like to start this review by stating that I have made no formal complaint to the staff at the Tunbridge Wells T&G, and I paid the full amount of £35 for my haircut with no quarrel.
Starting with the phone call, a friendly if rushed introduction was soon to be followed by a even more rushed appointment booking, I was asked for my name about 3 times, and even then they managed to spell my name 'Alex' in the book as 'Aielex' which I'm sure you'll agree is not a real name. Anyway this kind of mistake is purely trivial, and in no way should I assume that the actual process of cutting or styling my hair would match to the same standard as the appointment booking.
Toni and Guy in Tunbridge Wells is very welcoming, just like any other T&G there are great facilities and it's own music channel. These facilities are worth paying for, as long as the haircut it's self is up to the same standard.
Which brings me on to my actual haircut, at first I was greeted by a young man, possibly 22 years old. He was charming and we spoke about university and general chit chat. Upon meeting the stylist who was going to do my hair however, although she greeted me with a distant smile, she looked extremely confused (I can only imagine she's never seen or worked on men's hair before) When carrying out the haircut she used scissors and a comb, thats it. Fair enough if she was incredibly skilled but she clearly was uncomfortable, As a result I feel that it is possibly one of the worst haircuts I've ever had.
Finally i'd like to mention that under other circumstances, for example If i'd have had a stylist who frequented male clients, that my experience there would have been perfect.
for £35, I expect my haircut (the main aspect and reason for my visit) to be at a high standard, it simply wasn't. read more
