Tom has been our agent for, I can't remember. From Wilmette to Glenview and now half time in Rome Italy and the remaining in Glenview. I have dealt with other agencies over my 80 years and I really believe Tom is the best I have ever had. We have a car here in Rome and you would not believe how much time and aggravation there is in trying to suspend insurance when we come to the States. My son told me about this Yelp site & I love the "no holds barred" advice! I'm happy to say my first review after signing up is for Tom Hallberg Jr and his insurance agency. I had been with State Farm for close to 15 years. But after seeing yet another rate increase, I mentioned something to my neighbor over drinks being somewhat frustrated. He suggested to call his agent and get a quote as he couldn't say enough about him. This is what led me to call Tom. I called on a Saturday to simply leave a message about my interest in getting a quote, but come to find out the number he gave me was Tom's cell as he happened to answer (at his son's basketball game no less). I apologized for bothering him but came to find out that he gives his cell out to his customers!? How's that for personal service - I already liked this guy! (I don't think I ever got my State Farm guy during the week, much less the weekend.) He took 5 minutes to get my info and told me he'd have a rate to me later in the day. Numbers were good, coverage was better than what I had and his honest recommendations were what really sold me. I have already referred my two children to Tom's agency as a result of my experience with him. I just renewed my policy this week and wanted to make sure people know about this guy. What an amazing agent! I've yet to see customer service like this in the insurance industry. He responds quickly to phone calls and emails (even on a Sunday and after hours) and he LOOKS for ways to go the extra mile just to make your life easier. I had just moved to Chicago and Tom made a stressful transition as easy as possible when it came to handling my insurance. I was busy during the day but wanted to get my insurance handled - he told me to call him on his cell phone after hours and that he'd be happy to take care of everything for me. A few weeks later, I had a little fender bender out of state, nothing too important so I sent an email on a Sunday morning asking what I should do, he responded ASAP! When setting up renters insurance, his team noticed the address change would save me money (I didn't ask). When I did ask them to send me proof of renters insurance so I could give it to my landlord/apartment complex - he told me he'd send it directly to them to save me some time. The above doesn't cover everything, but time after time, I get nothing but top notch service. I've never had such a great agent that responds quicker, cares more, or goes out of their way as much. read more

Who reviews their insurance agent, right? Well, this guy deserves taking the time to write one. Being a nurse, I'm all about patient care & advocating for those I'm caring for. I can honestly say I feel like I've found a kindred soul in having Tom Hallberg as our family's agent for EVERYTHING insurance related. He cares! He's honest...and he tells you up front he believes he works for you (the customer) like your own personal advocate. I liked that. Whether it comes to recommending coverage & changes that save you money now or possibly reducing higher out of pocket costs later, I loved that he looked to "educate" me a bit and then let me choose what was best for my family. From a personal standpoint, never was this more apparent than our recent claim. He had told me to call him first if something was to happen, this was a first, but I loved the fact he walked me through the process (once again make suggestions from experience) and this proved to lend itself to a more that satisfactory claim experience getting our car fixed quickly at a great, local shop. I can't say enough about Tom. I've referred a bunch of my co-workers to him who have complained about their current insurance agent/company & not feeling "cared for" or the constant rate increases.
