Great store and had a fascinating talk with the owner. I'll stop in again when in Indianapolis.read more

They managed to delete my review from Google, so here it is:…read more 5/2/25 Well, I should have known better. I really wanted to do business with a local music store. Been in several times before, owner didn't make me feel real welcome, but thought I would give it another chance. Stopped by on the way home looking for a practice guitar amp. Had looked at prices online different brand. Zane Franklin, "The Prince/Sales Manager" helped me (out of my money). Said, "I have a used Blackstar ID Core 40 V2 that I can get you a deal on" of course we all like deals, so I said ok. He brought it in the room and said "I can get this for you for the same price as the Blackstar ID Core 20 V4, $229. Being bigger and better (I assumed, bad move) I liked the sound of it, thought why not, I'll take it. Made the mistake of googling the amp after I made the purchase. The V2 is obsolete, and the V4, brand new sells for $229, the price I paid for a used amp. Never buy something from Zane that you don't know the price of elsewhere. He made sure he had me sign the receipt, and of course I wasn't paying attention to the words right above my signature "ALL SALES FINAL NO REFUNDS". I claim responsibility for being taken advantage of, it's what happens when you are in a hurry. There won't be a second time. I will go to Guitar Center or drive to Fort Wayne and go to Sweetwater. Thanks Zane, you got me. ***UPDATE**** My google review was not deleted, google did not post it due to it having a link in it. Once I deleted the link it was immediately posted. Now the good part, 12 minutes after posting, Zane called me and apologized for the mistake he had made regarding the sale price and refunded a reasonable amount of the purchase price. Thank you Zane for making this right!

On the other hand, music seems to speak to the very soul of my daughter, more so than it did her brothers at the same age. Since we've started the class, she has begun to babble-sing along with any music she hears even though she cannot yet talk. The class also teaches me, the parent, fun vocal games to play. It came in VERY handy when we had to wait to be seated at a busy restaurant one night. With the older boys, we have also discovered they have a very strong sense of the beat. Who knew my boys were musically inclined when they weren't even interested! As a homeschool mom, I appreciate the fact I can bring all my children regardless of age. I am not musically trained, so a more musical person may have a different opinion. However, for average parents out there trying to incorporate music into their child's world and are unsure how, this is great.

Activities include finger plays, large motor movements, interactive instrument jams, improvisation, some sign language, and extra activities with other appropriate, fun props that encourage movement or pretend play. Our classes also increase self-confidence and family bonding.

When the guitar arrived, there were a few things that could've made for a better experience. First, the guitar was filthy covered in fingerprints, and the strings were corroded beyond use. Also, as this was a Floyd Rose equipped guitar, there was no whammy bar included in the box. And THE last straw was, after cleaning and getting it playable, I plugged in and there was NO SOUND. I unscrewed the back plate and saw there was no wire soldered to the jack. NOTHING. I bet this guitar hung on the wall and never sold because nobody could get any sound from it. A SIMPLE shipping check list of a few validations would've revealed this. I expected way better from Guitar Center. I don't think I will purchase anything online or in shop from them any further when there are plenty of local shops who will bend backward to white glove customers. Do better Guitar Center!

After purchasing a used Ovation guitar, the bridge separated from the body while being played normally. When I contacted the store to ask whether Guitar Center could help with a repair or resolution, I was told they would do nothing because I hadn't purchased an extended protection plan. I was advised to seek outside repair shops and told the repair would likely cost more than the guitar was worth. I then asked whether the purchase value could be applied toward a replacement guitar. That request was dismissed immediately, without discussion, and in a tone that was unprofessional and dismissive. I am a 100% service-connected disabled combat veteran, and music is a critical part of my ongoing therapy for TBI and PTSD. I wasn't asking for a handout -- only for the store to stand behind a product that failed during normal use. This experience undermined the trust Guitar Center claims to value in its relationship with musicians.
