I rarely do reviews. But I feel I need to express my appreciation to those who helped me. I am the type of person who takes pressures on my neck and shoulder. My back is also tense because of long hours of working at the desk. I have been to many massage therapists. In China, Thailand, and other places in the United States. I am often disappointed by many massage therapists who do not have the strength. I was introduced to Tokyo massage a year ago and I am hooked. Every time after finishing a major task, I come to this place for therapy. I have to say, the ladies here are my lifesavers. They may not speak Enlighs well, but their hands can detect where your problems are. Their strong fingers work wonder. Their feet also work miracle. If you are looking for a soothing spa type of environment, it may not the right place. However, for people like me, are looking for serious massage therapy. It is the one. read more

The absolute BEST massage I've ever received. I've had high quality athletic massages before and this beats all of them. My masseuse covered every single muscle group and was very attentive to my needs. I will ABSOLUTELY be returning. I'm sort of stunned by how incredible this massage was lol read more

Decent massage. Employee was forcefully telling me how much to tip her. We had to have a conversation through a translator app because we didn't understand each other. She stated services have a mandatory minimum of 20% service charge. read more

We went as a group of 4 for a girls outing. My massage lady was petite but had strong had strong hands! We paid $70 instead of $90 for 45 minutes because they were running a summer special . Or maybe the special is always on... who knows ? Do not expect a fancy or fluffy robe .. the style is very basic but the job gets done. read more

It's clean, and they're nice. But the massage was not good and the lady was on a phone call 10 mins of the massage, pausing constantly and messing with her phone.. would have much rather paid a bit more and gotten actual good service and a good massage. read more

Halfway through my 60 minute massage the front desk clerk asked me to get up and move into another room so other people could be used the room I was in. She giggled and laughed the whole time didn't offer any discount and didn't extend my time on the table, they walked me to another room with a sheet wrapped around me. I should have left at that point. Not relaxing and a waste of time and money. read more

The massage was amazing! Yoy is really caring specialist, she was able to hear exactly what I want.. I felt so energized!

Good but pricey, they include gratuity on top of list price and includes in bill, and expect additional tip !!!

"I've been there twice, and both times the masseuse was texting while giving me the massage. I find it inconceivable, disrespectful

I haven't been to the space since before covid and I was pleased to see that some of the newer staff were excellent. We had Mandy and Cici. Mandy is a strong therapist who manages to hit the pressure points well. Flexible hours and easy scheduling overall. The price is not cheap but quality thankfully remains. read more

the massage table was extremely uncomfortable, the staff had their phone on vibrate the whole time and it kept interrupting the experience. they often went in and out of the room and spoke to eachother. when the massage ends, they give you a hard pat on the back for no reason. when it was time to pay they requested that we give them more tip than we already had. we will not be back. read more

This is the great place, even price went up, still very good service, but 2 days ago I had a situation when I was paying and left the tip, lady at the front desk told me - "Omg, what is this?! Just 10% that's all?! Why that little?! O my gosh I my gosh" exactly like that. Very bad attitude to be honest and bad vibes after that. read more

I have been there 4x now over a 3 month period and have never gotten a bad massage. Prices have gone up a little, but it basically is a $ 1.50 a minute and that is not unreasonable. I have tried both the 90 min & 60 min ones and I am very happy!!! Only issue: People need to use inside voice when going down hall... realize you may not have started your massage or have just finished..., others are still getting one. Answering your phone and/or talking loud is jarring.... read more

(First experience last month)I received a full head to toe massage and it was worth every penny! I prefer male masseuse because their hands are more firm so I was okay with having a male work on me, he was very professional and even covered me when I had a boob slip. (Currently) Just left and Coco did my massage 15 mins in she called for Julia and had her do it instead. Both women were not good and they were rushing it was the sloppiest massage ever. Totally not worth the time, I was literally thinking about leaving the whole time but I paid ahead and I didn't think they were going to give my money back. If you come here be careful because they don't all know what they are doing read more

I never return to places where I've had one or two star experiences, and Tokyo Massage was one of them. I still remember as if it was yesterday the pathetic massage I received at this place three years ago. So why did I come back? Because while I was getting a foot massage at one of my massage staples Golden Spa in Hallandale http://bit.ly/2i7GWks the owner informed me she recently bought Tokyo Massage. She also said some of her masseuses at Golden Spa were also working at Tokyo Spa. When I looked up the Yelp review ratings the previous owner left with the business I was horrified! It was obvious most people had a similar experience to what I had three years ago. Anyway out with the old and in with the new! Tokyo Spa has the perfect location, it's located in the Intracoastal MalI and is about a 3 minute walk from Ipic movie theaters. Once you enter the Mall on NE 35st Tokyo Spa's big sign is the first place on the left. So I passed by the other day and the owner was there as well as one of the girls I recognized from Golden Spa. The interior is super clean and modern, they have a huge table shower, I think it's the biggest one I've ever seen. The spa also has walking poles so the masseuse can walk on your back(shiatsu). Besides the typical massage tables they also have the super wide massage tables for bigger people. Being I was in a rush to get to South Beach, I decided to get a 30 minute deep tissue. Just like my many experiences at Golden Spa my muscles survived the pleasure of painful appropriations while the hot stone application became the cherry on the rum raisin sundae. I left totally refreshed & rejuvenated. read more

My therapist gave me subpar services. I explained my disappointment to the manager and asked why was I subjected to being exposed during my massage publicly and why did my therapist continue talking to someone else who walked into the room during my session. The manager suggested giving me a discount for the services which was $30.00 mins for $50.00 I'm extremely disappointed read more

I had a Great experience! One of the best massage I had and I go regularly to have massages. I Thank you very much, you helped me to feel better! suffered from migraines. she had a firm strong hand and I love that she was working also on my mobility. Great job! Thank you very muchy. read more

Unbelievable waste of time. You call them, make an appointment, and when you come, they are asking you to wait for an hour. Absolute disrespect of people's time. Plus, all tips forced on you, they constantly pushing for more. read more

Tokyo has changed ownership several months back and it's obvious. It's female run by an experienced massage business owner, and all the women there are very sweet and work very hard. Most also speak a tiny bit or more English. My husband and I have been coming here for a couple years, but it's more professional now and the therapists are definitely better than the old crew. It's not fancy, and it's still no frills Chinese Massage, so don't go looking for Swedish spa style, but they're good and strong and bring relief. They are experienced and know what they're doing. And if you like their version of "Shiatsu", walking on back of body, they have rooms for this and there is tremendous release in that before starting the rest of Massage session. My favorite for deeper work. read more

Great for price. Was fast getting in and out. I definitely return here. 1 week later and I don't feel any pain in my back.

I asked for a Thai/deep tissue massage. It was no where near that. It was not very good. I will not be returning.

They made me come there and than they were busy told me to come back a different day.very upsetting

My husband and I recently had 1hour massages here. We called in advance to make appointment and request that we both have women masseuses. Upon arrival-we we're taken into our room for a couples massage. Once undressed-both of our masseuses came in but mine was a man! Due to a slight language barrier, it took about 5 minutes to swap this guy for a woman who appeared to be the one in charge. Overall, the massage was good, but the facility lacked a peaceful, zen vibe like most places. I felt rushed-as if they were short staffed. If you still choose to give this spot a chance-book an early appointment. read more

I am writing this review here because this listing is for the same business as "Tokyo Massage". There are not 2 separate business in the same shopping center. Avoid avoid avoid! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have been here a few times, and only the first time the massage was good. The second and third time the massage so so/so nothing really to come back for. However, my most recent visit it why I will never go back. The woman named "wendy" giving the massage could barely speak English.. Which is normal in miami, but I don't speak Chinese (her language) So there was absolutely no way to Communicate with her. Also, when she first came in she felt that I was not lying on the massage table correctly (which was not true) and proceeded to laugh at me for several minutes (I would have walked out if they didn't make you prepay). The worst part is that this woman had no idea how to give a massage! She clearly did something to the back of my neck because from the next day on it has been hurting. I now may have to go to a doctor or chiropractor! NEVER AGAIN TOKYO MASSAGE!!! read more

I booked a massage together with my husband I stated I was pregnant and they confirmed my appointment. Once I arrived, The person who was supposed to give me a massage looked at me and said she can't perform a massage because she is scared. I then asked why did they give me a prenatal massage appointment and they just replied "I don't know". Do not go they are not reliable. read more

Poor customer service. The therapist tried to make me feel bad for leaving A $10 on my one hour massage which was $70. I don't think that's a bad tip at all but she had her back turned to me and said she appreciated 20%! Never coming back! read more

Marry is amazing! As soon as she feels a knot, she works on it till it's out. Love her!

1/21/2013 Edit " I have really bad issues with my muscles and this place is excellent! They are all really nice and professional. The gentleman who runs the place along with the girls are great. I use Wendy as a massage therapist and she is THE BEST! I have used others there and they are really good too, but Wendy has the most experience it seems. She's really great for neck and shoulder problems. She helped me a lot. Very good place if you suffer from serious injuries and repetitive stress injuries. Just to let you know, Wendy is for SERIOUS problems not for feel good boring light massage. Her specialty is Sports, and if you're not used to it you might be surprised. When I first went I thought it was hard, but I had NO PAIN THE NEXT DAY! I was in really sever pain so this was a HUGE relief! I decided to ask for lighter massage next time- but it didn't help me the next day. So now I get the harder massage and I no longer have neck pain! I'm so happy about this! I suffered for years with electric shock up and down my neck! Does she give hard massage? YES! But she heals you! The next day you feel great! No more pain!!! She's been helping with my shoulder, does it hurt when she massages? Sometimes! But my shoulder is sooo much better, I can lift it above my head with no pain! I seriously thank God every time I go to her- she's helped me so much! Better than a Doctor!!! She doesn't speak English but just tell the front guy to tell her your issues. And she'll get to it. Very happy customer Ask for Wendy. You won't be disappointed! read more

Hubby and I had a weekday off from the kids and we were running errands in the area and decided to get a massage. So I called them and was able to get an appointment in 15 min. While we were skeptical about it at first, we figured $70 for an hour wasn't too bad. Well it exceeded out expectations. The massage was GREAT. And everyone was very nice. I had Knox do my massage and he did a great job of adjusting my hips which is impossible for most. My husband had Mary and she was good too. A great combination of deep tissue and relaxing! I would def recommend. read more

Made 2 appointments, one for my sister and one for me. When we arrived, we were greated really nicely but were told they are running late by 20 minutes. We went to the dollar store and came back but still had to wait 10 minutes. When they were ready for us they asked if we mind getting massages in the same room, weird! But we said ok. The massages themselves were AMAZING! Strong and thorough. We were very pleased and it was definitely worth the wait even though it messed with our schedule. Would have been nice if it was on time though. When we were done, they sent us off with water bottles and smiles. I would definitely go back here, although would call before I actually arrived to see if they are on time. read more

Have you ever had someone literally TEXT while you're lying there getting a massage? Not me- not until this place. My masseuse left the room 3 times during the hour long massage.. totaling around 15 minutes of missed massage time. Door was left open the entire time so she could communicate (yell) to her coworkers. $70 isn't cheap.. but the entire experience sure did feel like I was going to a $20 place. Sad. read more

This place is kind of hidden by the movie theater, but worth the search! I asked them for a strong massage and that was exactly what was delivered. It's traditional Qi-gong style. Rooms and facilities are clean and comfortable. Price is not cheap but much less than a spa and well worth it. With the dearth of good strong massage places in north Miami Tokyo massage is an important addition to our scene. read more
