But I was a glutton for punishment and went across the parking lot to go into a seedy looking bar, attracted to it since the sign read, "Druids Lodge". I like almost anything PAGAN since in most of human existence that was the STANDARD. Only in the last 2,000 years or so do we get a deviance from that mean. Well, Druids is a DIVE which pleased me just fine since dives are another like of mine. Being prim & proper is all fine, but in a dive you can let your hair down and maybe even burp out loud, and no one would blink an eye. I got too fancy & wanted a Campari & Soda, but Druids didn't have it. So you gotta order plain drinks like Gin & Tonic or straight Whiskey. Heather, the bartendress, was a hoot. She is a natural born comedienne. She just talks easy, & you end up smiling and sometimes rolling on the floor. She's got a natural delivery that just sneaks up on you. Heather is cool. Druids Lodge is just ok when it comes to the sophistication of their stock of liquor. It's a down home bar, but Heather makes the place extra special & entertaining. She is a heterosexual man's W_T Dream. But I for one, enjoy her joie de vivre and her all out fun style. Druids is 3 stars but Heather bumps in that one extra star just by her own star power. You go, Girl!

I went to KLEA with the intention of using this venue for my sister's wedding. I was greeted rudely…read moreby Diana, she seemed upset about the amount of people who were brought in to see the venue (myself bride mother of bride and children). We asked basic questions about the venue and she seemed to not mind. Once the price of the venue was brought up I asked (being a KLEA member) about the KLEA member discount (knowing there is one). Diana responded very rudely, "what about it?" I ask what the discount was being a member. Diana stated she was only giving a discount to the bride or groom no one else. I asked Diana if she can tell me the discount regardless, she refused. We continued with the tour, at the end of the tour we asked about availability dates. Diana told us, I asked Diana if we can review the contract, she approved. I asked if she could get it, she then stated she didn't see a point but could get it if I'd like. I told her yes please. Diana changed her mind and said she was not going to show us unless we signed it. I explained I just wanted to review it before we signed anything she refused. My sister (bride to be) was too fed up to continue to speak with her and asked to leave. It was very apparent Diana did not like us when we entered the venue, the way she spoke to myself and my family was very rude. It also should not matter if the bride or groom is a member to get a discount. My gift for my sister's wedding is paying for the venue I am a KLEA member, my mother is a KLEA member, my brother in law is a KLEA member. Our family is Law Enforcement in Kern County. It is not only about the discount, the way Diana made my sister feel was very uncalled for. This was my sister's favorite venue however how can she enjoy her wedding when the person in charge of the venue was unpleasant for no reason? Venue is pretty customer service was awful. I would love a response from anyone at this venue.

Our daughter was getting married and they had everything we needed, location, photography, food & servers and decorations. Their prices are exceptional, I had to add two extra tables at the last minute and they were so great about it and accommodating. My daughter wanted her decor to look like a cover from a vampire book with dark red and black colors and Ruth completely nailed it . I couldn't get over how beautiful everything looked , the centerpieces and linens were so elegant. She made all the bouquets and just days before the wedding my daughter decided she wanted the church decorated and Ruth and Fernando pulled it off , it looked amazing !! I loved the food we got so many compliments, they did a charcuterie layout for cocktail hour and chips and salsa it was beautiful. The dinner was Tuscan chicken, tri tip , vegetables and rice pilaf so delicious, I wish I would've taken a photo of it . The cake we ordered from a local bakery needed a little touch up so Ruth put fresh roses all around it making it look AMAZING ! I can't say enough how wonderful they are and accommodating with all the last minute requests. If you decide to use them for your events just know you'll have peace of mind that they'll do a fantastic job with everything.
