Summary: If you want a breakfast in berlin thats gonna make you say WOW... this is the place!…read more I can say I have probably had the best bagel of my whole life!! And thats saying a lot considering I grew up on New York Bagels. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the presentation is just gorgeous, and it was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese has a hint of lemon oil in it that just brings the entire dish together. The space itself is super cozy and cute, i sat on a high top chair by the window and enjoyed watching passersby's eyes open wide at the amazing food The menu is very limited but it all looked amazing, other peoples dishes at tables beside me looked large and beautiful as well so I have no doubt everything here is a hit! This is one of my last meals in berlin but I wish I could come here every morning!!! Service was fast and friendly as well :-) 10/10 homerun cafe

Since moving to Berlin from San Francisco, I've noticed a clear distinction in the brunch culture…read moreof both cities. Would you like a crowded café with an Instagram aesthetic (ranging from the food to the decor) and a fast-paced meal or something more Berlin -- a lowkey living room-esque vibe with meat and cheese galore? Thankfully, bRICK manages to bridge these two identities for a peaceful weekend brunch that'll make you feel like you're right at home. I stopped by on a recent Saturday morning to find it half empty, more or less. The customer service was a little brusque (not surprising) though not overtly so as its hipster decor might allude to. I had the "Brickfast" -- the most Californian option on the menu (with Berlin prices). It included two fried eggs, grilled cheese (as in, thin blocks), avocado, hummus, homemade tomato cream cheese (!), olives, bread, and a small salad. The tomato cream cheese was definitely a nice touch, though I was a little disappointed that the tomato taste was just a bit too subtle for me to actually discern. And the eggs left me wanting more... more water, actually, because they were way too salty! But points for effort because there was so much food, I guess?

"Berlin is a city condemned forever to becoming and never being." Interpret this well-known quote…read morehowever you'd like, but when it comes to food, I think this statement captures the diversity of Berlin's up-and-coming food scene and how a quintessential restaurant in Berlin always continues to be inspired by trends across the world. Okay Café, which has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast, captures this perfectly: I was greeted in Swedish ("hej!"), interacted with the servers in German, and heard a few snippets of an English conversation every now and then. If that doesn't perfectly represent Berlin's multiculturalism, I'm not sure what does. Okay Café markets itself as a Neukölln cafe with a Stockholm touch and it certainly finds the perfect middle ground between these two identities: it's effortlessly cool (with Scandinavian minimalism galore) and unpretentiously trendy. Any hipster who stops by would have nary a complaint about the food nor the decor (plants on plants!). And if that won't win you over, know that this is one of the few restaurants in Berlin where the server will bring your table complimentary tap water (with a tasteful slice of lemon) without you having to ask beforehand. Oh, and the fantastic indie music selection (off the top of my head: a HAIM cover of a Tame Impala song, LCD Soundsystem, and Babyshambles) was also a nice touch. The food is delicious and healthy, with a good number of vegan and vegetarian options for those with dietary restrictions. Color me surprised when I found out that I could enjoy an omelette with a more-than-generous amount of avocado and a tasty side salad with pomegranate and pine nuts for €6.80! This dish screams San Francisco, but it'd definitely cost at least twice as much over there. On top of that, it's also one of the more heartier (and cheaper) breakfasts I've enjoyed in Berlin. And since we're talking about a Swedish-inspired cafe, how could we forget about the cinnamon buns? On top of offering the classic cinnamon buns everyday, there are also daily specials ranging from vanilla to Nutella. Enjoy a Swedish fika with a cinnamon bun and an Americano with your laptop -- there's free wifi, but they ask that you don't bring your laptops in on Sundays. And if you get hungry, place your food order before 4 p.m., which is when the kitchen closes. And true to its self-proclaimed Stockholm touch, they also take card. Tack and bis bald!

Newly discovered favorite! This Scandinavian inspired cafe serves brunch, soup and baked goods!…read more For breakfast you can choose between oatmeal or chia pudding bowls, toasts and sandwiches or omlets. We had the avocado toast and the chocolate oatmeal. The avocado toast was fantastic and probably the best one I've ever had! The sourdough was crisp and it was topped with a generous helping of avocado and a boiled egg on a layer of cream cheese. Completed by a side salad and roasted seeds. My friend had the chocolate oatmeal served with foamed milk. It was good but she couldn't finish since it was super chocolate-y. The waiter even noted that barely no one can finish it. Service was pretty slow, interior is hipster but very pretty and minimalistic. So can only recommend this place and if the service would be faster everything would be perfect!
