The park is a great place to stop for camping, picnicking, boating, and fishing. There are reservable campsites with water and electricity hookups, picnic shelters, playgrounds, hot showers, flush toilets, a dump station, and a boat ramp. We were just passing through to check out the wonderful name and then see the bridge and dam. Next time, maybe we'll stay. [Review 2306 of 2024 - 369 in Arkansas - 23321 overall]

The "Diamond Heist" was our 18th escape room of varying levels of quality, and our second at the…read moreEscape Mystery Rooms (previous was CSI: Conway). This place was a little different, with a homier feel, and we had a little bit of a frustrating experience the first time around based on the way the room was laid out and the way our game was managed. However, the Diamond Heist was very well put together. We got an appropriate/abundant level of helps and hints that kept the game moving along. When we got stuck it was almost completely on us, and the game master helped where needed. Parts of the game were very innovative and despite this being number 18 we were amazed that there are still new ways to solve "puzzles" and Escape Mystery Rooms integrated a number of them into the room. The one drawback, associated with the "homey" atmosphere, was that there were a few young children running around (grandkids?) in the front area. The only issue with that was that they were an auditory distraction while we were trying to immerse ourselves in the room (minor) and might have been a distraction to the game master once or twice(?). In the end they credited us with escaping at 59:59 and we were very satisfied with our experience and disappointed that we missed out on the Hotel Room (which appeared to be closed for replacement), but are looking forward to what they install next. We will continue to return to Escape Mystery Rooms, especially if they end up opening their date night room as they'd discussed a few months ago. I recommend this escape room as one of the top in the local area. And if you need to discuss this review hopefully I'll be the one coming out of one of their escape rooms at under 60 minutes.

When we were there the leaves were beginning to change and it was beautiful! The accommodations are great. The rooms and cabins are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are nice too. They have just built some new 2 - 3 bedroom cabins that are really nice. The common areas in the lodges have large-screen TVs and enormous stone fireplaces. There are plenty of books to read or large walls of windows where you can enjoy the complimentary coffee, hot tea or cocoa and look out at the beautiful view while sitting on a comfy couch next to the fire. Or you can go outside and enjoy a bonfire or the fire pit. There's also plenty of outdoor running room if you have a group of kids that need to play some games, set up some type of activities or just walk around enjoying the surroundings. The meeting spaces are well furnished and accommodate a large group of people easily. At Sunset Point we enjoyed the space and its furnishings. We also liked how there was a small kitchenette out in the foyer for refreshments. Speaking of refreshments...the food is top-notch. They have a wonderful award-winning chef that prepared wonderful meals for our group of 120. We ate so well at the meals that we did not really want any type of snacks throughout the day. They were VERY hospitable in every way, but what struck me the most is how they accommodated peoples dietary needs. You don't get that consideration every where. The staff at the retreat center is very flexible and helped us at every level. But I will tell you, if you're looking for lodging that has marble floors and egyptian cotton sheets you should keep looking somewhere else. This center is not built for that type of lodger. They are very nice and comfortable if you enjoy a little of a rustic feel without giving up any conveniences. All of our rooms had complimentary soap, hair dryers and irons/ironing boards. But no butler will turn your bed down at night! As they continue to grow and update properties this place is only going to get better. One more thing, this is a Christian organization...so don't make reservations if you plan to booze it up.
