The sign has been removed and the policy changed. I have a great deal of respect for the owner's handling of this matter. With this matter resolved, only positive things remain for me to say about this place. I will be changing my reviews and recommendations, as we otherwise had a great time. They have a very nice place, with friendly staff, and lots of fun things to do. It also included a full day of mining and zip lining. You can separate all these options if you choose to save some cash but we thought that was a good deal. We struggled to decide which mine to go to and have zero regrets. We are super excited to get home and clean up our great selection of gems. Bring garden gloves for each person and garden tools from home even a shovel if you really wanna dig deep. We took regular trowels and Lowe's bucket. I recommend a wagon to pull the heavy haul back to your cars. They provide a huge bag per person if you forgot and sell tools if you need some. Don't worry about not finding anything. You cannot leave without some pretty rock. They are everywhere including the parking lots. You will need a shower afterwards and netty pot. I was surprised to find so much dirt inside my ears and nose. It's okay it all washes off. Have fun. I do wish they sold more jewelry and souvenirs of stones from this actual place. There are tons of beautiful pieces but a keychain, earrings, Christmas ornament etc that you know is from this actual mine would be more meaningful for me at least. There was 1 local artist advertised but not information about where the stones come from. We still bought several things. Bathrooms are in gift shop.
