Because the hair was broken I now have ingrown hair all over my legs and underarms. The beauty therapist / waxing technician was quite obviously obsessed with getting me in and out as quickly as she could. No plucking to the many many strays and large patches of hair that she missed. Lots of wax was left on my legs and tops of feet. I have tried this salon twice now with similar results both times. I could put this down to the terribly dull lighting in the wax room. Ambient lighting and waxing do not mix, clearly. Also just to be nit picky the treatment room was old and tired looking. Wax on the floor and a rickety wobbly bed. I feel very strongly that some professional development and quality control could be beneficial to the salon. The money paid was definitely not comparable to the service given.

As a tanning virgin, I was VERY nervous however I had no complaints with the even, golden tan I walked out with. They also offer the full range of beauty services, and have monthly specials on things like eye lash extensions, making a little pampering more affordable. Hot tip: buy the 5 pack of tans. It brings the price down to $30 per tan and it turns out that spray tans are rather addictive, so it's an investment that will pay off.

Generally I haven't had to wait on scripts for too long here, however, despite the fact that it seems to be always bustling with customers. However there are enough pharmacists and stuff employed at the chemist to make sure that everyone pretty much has their needs served to as soon as they approach the counter. It's a well-oiled machine, and you can tell. I also found the staff here to be very friendly in a genuine way. (The sort of people that foreigners appreciate and return home saying, "Australians are so NICE. Even the people working in shops are nice to you.") This level of high respect and friendliness is at odds with some of Brisbane's pharmacies where you feel like you're getting the third degree for asking to purchase nasal decongestant or cold and flu tablets. I understand that pharmacists can ask these questions, but there's asking and then there's the third-degree.
