Price: Very fair The original call was answered promptly with a promise to send someone over for an estimate in 90 min. I received a call a bit later requesting permission to come a bit earlier - so courteous. We discussed what we wanted done and showed him the side fence which 2 other companies said we would need to remove. Glad we didn't. They never called or came back. LI Paving's Tom, told us they pave up to it on each side of the fence and tamp together. Tom told us how everything would go and we said anytime was good. He handed us a contract with all that was discussed fully written out and we each signed. NO PAYMENT REQUIRED UNTIL WORK DONE AND SATISFIED!! The following week, he called to ask if they could do it. Sure. They showed up Wed and dug everything up. The workers and family members work like clockwork. The belgian blocks went down beautifully. My neighbor came out to talk to Tom and immediately approved them doing hers also. They dug hers up next. The trucks were busy. The workers were busy and everyone knew their job so well. It was like watching an orchestra play. Tom and his son, Tom, worked the roller/pounder and the payloader. His son never thumped on the ground. It was so impressive. By the next evening, everything was beautifully done. We had a question the day after and he and a worker came and cut a bit off to extend our garden area. He and his sons have talent and a work ethic that can't be beat. Day 2 they were all outside at 6:30 am to clean the blocks and do whatever they were doing while I was sleeping, lol. At 8:00, the roller/pounder got going. I had done quite a bit of research after we spoke to the first 2 companies that we weren't comfortable with. Tom explained that it's all about having the right equipment, not leaving your driveway exposed for 2 weeks while you drive over the same spots. The entire driveway has to be graded and pounded equally. All my research bears that out. I almost wish I had more driveways for them to do :-))

Not even 3 years ago he did our driveway and we have a few holes in it, one being absolutely huge that we need to fix before the colder weather. Mind you, we gave this guy $10,000 to pave our driveway. Would never recommend them.

Made an appointment for a consult and got an email asking me to confirm by emailing back with YES,…read morewhich I did. No one showed up. I called and I was very upbeat at first. I had used Dom's once before and had a positive experience with Phil so I assumed the crew was just running late. But when I asked if they were on their way, a woman scoldingly told me I did not confirm so no one was coming. I told her I absolutely did confirm, and I had been waiting for hours, after changing my schedule. She said "no you did not confirm." I said I'm looking right at my email where I replied yes. She said in a nasty tone, "Well I'm looking at my system and it does not have a confirmation from you." I said "I don't care what your system says. I did confirm. I'm looking right at it." She repeated, very argumentative and condescending when she should've been apologizing: "I'm looking at my system and everyone else is confirmed but you're not." I said "Then your system is broken because I confirmed! Check your email. I confirmed." Now she yelled at me "Don't speak to me like I'm a child." Excuse me? SHE was the one scolding ME like a child, when she should've been APOLOGIZING for standing me up when I had a confirmed appointment! IN ADDITION: This whole business of "confirming" is ridiculous. I made the appointment, and I didn't cancel it. Even if their system somehow missed my confirmation (which is inexcusable) you don't CANCEL an appointment without contacting the customer. They have my cell number. They should've notified me that they were cancelling. Then I could've directed them to my confirmation email which they somehow missed. Also: Their email made it sound like confirmation was optional. It said: "Hello. This is a reminder that Phil will be with you on (date) between 2:30 & 3:30pm. Thanks, Dom's Landscaping. Reply yes to confirm or visit (website). Thank you." That email says Phil is coming! It does NOT say (but it SHOULD say): "If you don't confirm, we won't show up, and we won't even contact you to let you know we're standing you up." Since that is apparently their policy, they need to make that clear. But again, I CONFIRMED! I have proof. And I waited! And no one came. And when I called, I got scolded, even though it was THEIR FAULT. This is a terrible business.

The completely unprofessional owner and lack of quality aren't worth it. The Good: During the work, Alex was pleasant to work with. His crew was nice too. They do a basic job. For simple stuff like installing pavers, they might be ok to go with. The Bad: 1. No accountability. Alex ordered a dirt roll off dumpster to be placed in the street, but it ended up in my driveway. The dumpster driver drove over and cracked my neighbors sidewalk and apron. The time from contract signing to work starting was over a month! He had plenty of time to get the proper permit or instruct me to do so. - it's been a nightmare trying to get someone to fix it. At first, Alex and the dumpster company agreed to fix it. A month later, nothing is done. And now Alex tells me that he has zero responsibility and none of this is his fault. It's turned extremely unpleasant with me the homeowner and my neighbor left in a limbo. The Alex says all he will do is make 1 phone call to the dumpster company to fix it. My NEIGHBORS BRAND NEW sidewalk and apron cracked from the dumpster that Alex ordered to be put in the street, but the company put it in the driveway. He ordered it. He placed it. He should have been on top of it so that my neighbors property wouldn't be damaged!! In my opinion, both the dumpster company and Alex should have been more on top of this. They both should have addressed the matter accordingly, but it's finger pointing at its best. 2. A week after he finished, I looked closer into the work done because a Gardner pointed out some issues. It didn't look like a precise grading job was done. The stucco around the vent opening looks horrendous. 3. Alex requested a deposit so that he could order materials. The deposit was given a month before the work started. I receive a call a week before the work from Alex saying he didn't get a chance to order the original pavers and unfortunately, the pavers we wanted are not in stock. Since the original pavers would take too long of a time to get in, we settled for another type. Overall I wouldn't ever consider hiring or recommending. There are far too many other companies that will do the same or better of a job and without the associated headache. I can't imagine anyone wanting to go through the finger pointing after the contractors damage a neighbors property. What a nightmare this is.
