The prices in this shop are very good and if you want to just stock up on things to lunge around in or tops/trousers for work then shopping here would be a cheap option. They often have sales and offers on in the shop and is always worth a look around to see what is in stock regularly. The staff are friendly and helpful and the shop is clean and tidy.

The home/kitchen area is brilliant - if you are in castlepoint don't go to robert dyas or lakeland for kitchen stuff - i got my great quality baking trays etc from here at a fraction of the price. The menswear section is also good for buying gifts eg designer wallets, cufflinks etc in nice presented boxes. Downstairs they have womens clothes, loungewear, underwear, a huge gorgeous bag section and beauty section. It is definitely worth rummaging through the clothes as i found Sass & Bide jeans hidden away for £39.99 (usually over 150 pounds!). I also like that they have lots of natural/organic beauty stuff in there quite often such as linden leaves, this works, balance me etc. They have a great range of fragrances too. The staff are always poilte and well dressed. I find when I go into next it's difficult not to find something I like, apart from the prices. I find the prices of some clothes quite expensive but the quality reflects in the price. The changing rooms in store are spacious and well managed. I like the feature where you can call an assistant if you need something else brought to you. There are four separate till areas so it's easy to get served even in busy periods and there is a small lift for parents with pushchairs or wheelchairs etc.

There are generally a lot of sales rails in this store to choose from, but the general layour is divided nicely between mens, womens, teens and plus sizes. The area for shoes is usually crowded and messy which is a shame as I like their ranges. The changing rooms are spacious and the assistant will always let you take in four items at a time, but rarely do they check when you come out which is a bit of a let down for them. The queues for the till can be quite long and there isn;t much of a system when it comes to queuing so you have to guess where to join on.

Wilkinsons has a cluttered feel to it, but it's worth walking through the clutter as you get some good bargains each time you visit. There are plenty of tills available which are qute slim in width making it slightly difficult to manouvre pushchairs through. The staff are always helpful however and make the experience an easy one.

There are lots of concessions in all departments, so there is a lot of choice. And although expensive, their own brand is very high quality. I love going in here - it just oozes class and taste. I once had my handbag stolen, but it's not the fault of the store. There is a cemetery on a nearby corner and drunks hang out there, and will make a dash through neighbouring shops in opportunist fashion. One night, however, a tomb stone was used to break a window at Beales!!!

It also has natural and organic brands on the shelving down the side with brands such as Dr Hauschka, Neals Yard and Burts Bees (although there is no sales assistant for advice on these brands, Dr Hauschka occasionally has instore makeover days - dates on website). The sales assistants vary, i have had some really nice women give me advice and some very unhelpful advice too - depends which counter you go to. They also have a cafe and restaurant but they are soooo expensive - although nice food, i dont think its worth the money (go to debenhams!) Rated 3 as i only visit now and then for gifts really and i now would prefer to go to space nk for beauty.
