For food, I ordered the prosciutto gouda pretzel and tomato spinach roll. If I had to choose my favourite between the two it would be the pretzel - it was very crispy and definitely the best tasting pretzel I've had. If you prefer softer, chewier foods, you may like to tomato spinach roll more. Altogether the total was just over $21 with tax. Very reasonable portions and prices coupled with freshness and great taste - this is probably the best cafe I've been to including ones in Ottawa and Toronto. I'll be coming back if I visit Thunder Bay again!

We came here for Sunday brunch with friends and ordered the Timberjack Special (all day breakfast…read moremeal) and Mojakka Meal (homemade menu). My husband and I wanted to try the Finnish staples. Overall, the food was good. The breakfast was standard and as expected. I liked the Finnish pancakes because they were soft, buttery, and the right amount of eggy. I just wished the dish was a bit more filling. My husband enjoyed his Mojakka stew -- it was hearty and comforting. The beef was tender. It wasn't the most flavourful stew, but I think the point of this stew is to be hearty and classic rather than unique / bursting with spices. Again, my only criticism would be the portion size being on the smaller side. The service was prompt and friendly.

Only nitpick was that they accidentally gave me chicken instead of tofu in my Venus Bowl, and I only found out after I got home -- but they corrected their error by promising me a free Venus Bowl with tofu the next time I come in. Though the food is tasty, it's not as amazing as others keep raving about. Perhaps my expectations were too high given the price point. Portions are reasonable and filling. Bottom line, I'd still give other menu items a try next time.
