Most of the workers are friendly & helpful, very much part of the community. Almost always walk out smiling. My only gripe is asking for a few items to be added, having heard that those requests could be made. The woman I told didn't write anything down, & none of them have appeared despite being from the same distributors and/or companies. I still think it's one of the two best grocery stores in Okanogan.

Great Historical Site. I knew the some of the people running the Malo Store years ago (Anna, Huey,…read moreand Margery Lindsey) before it was sold several times in the past. Most of the businesses here have a high volume of alcohol and cigarette sales. The Malo Store used to have gas for sale too. Unfortunately, this Ferry County area and many of the people here are involved with substance abuse, alcoholism, and organized crime activities. There is a network of surveillance criminals in this very rural area, and trafficking out of businesses is routine. I've been targeted for ongoing surveillance burglaries, vandalism, and even poisoning at my home very close to the Malo Store as well (appx 350 feet away). I don't think many businesses like this would even exist in Ferry County if there weren't trafficking going on out of them now due to the organized crime activities and money laundering here, unless they were a government-connected business or government organization like the USPS across the highway. The Malo store property is currently for sale the last time I went by the store. The Malo trailer court is less than a mile north of this property, and the surrounding inhabitants appear to me to be a very unsavory, criminal crowd to be living near from my targeted surveillance organized crime experiences in Ferry County.

They also have a small, but carefully chosen selection of wines, imported cookies, and the only decent marmalade in Ferry County (possibly because the store's owners are from Great Britain).

Double S used to be the best, ordered from them for years, not anymore. I tried in march to order a prime rib and she was just as helpful back then so I went elsewhere for that as well.
