This time it was a pitstop on the way back from Ren Fest. A place to eat and get off the road. And for Kid K to shop. I told her it would probably be busy since it was an outlet mall on a Saturday. It was not. Hardly anyone there. Half the stores were gone, empty, and a fair number of those still there were not open. We went to Carter's, TJ Maxx, BBW, and Pottery Barn. All huge, all with lots of interesting items. Most not at great prices, but a few real deals. Service at each was friendly. Not super easy to find each store, though there are signs at the end of each row. Easiest way to get around was to look at Yelp and see where each store was. No food to speak of in the mall. Fast food and a few other places out at the road. Restrooms were clean. And amusing (see pic.) The outlet down 71 slowly withered and died. This doesn't look that bad. Yet. It'll probably be years before I'm back, and I am not betting on it being open then...

I really wish I knew about this store earlier. My girlfriend and I were driving past the Orlando International Premium outlets on our way to the beach. In my experience, outlet stores are usually very busy and crowded. It's hard to find a sales associates available to help, and usually we end up roaming around the store looking for outfits that spark joy, and then forced to dig through stacks of clothes to find the right size, usually to no avail. Most outlets give me terrible anxiety, but she has a job interview next week and we needed few outfits to refresh her wardrobe. My beautiful girlfriend is size 20, she is fabulous, however she has difficult time finding clothes that fit and compliment her figure. I wear size 16 and can fit into some XL clothes. More than a few times I have bought man's cargo shorts for her and myself because women's shorts were either too short or too small for us to feel comfortable. We decided to give this Lane Bryant a try as it was on our way anyways. Finding parking wasn't easy. And I highly suggest getting a map on your phone to see what parking is the closest to the stores you need. Unlike most outlets, Lane Bryant store was very zen, calm and relaxing. We were greeted at the door, and asked if we were looking for anything in particular. My girlfriend and I didn't have a lot of time and wanted to see really quick if they had any work pants in her size. AND YES THEY DID! We picked few pants and headed to the dressing room. Young lady helping us was attentive, sweet and very fast. She kept checking in to make sure the fit was right, and was bringing more pants until my girlfriend found two dress pants that fit her perfectly. And I mean, PERFECT! Just the right length, very comfortable and stylish. Aside from pants, she also suggested several shirts, colorful blouses and cardigans to try on. I would have never picked those myself, but when my girlfriend put them on, they looked so perfect on her, we couldn't leave the store without them. Plus, everything in the store was 50-70% off. For under $150 we got a full week worth of work outfits to mix and match. My girlfriend walked out the store feeling confident and looking fabulous! The whole ordeal took less than an hour and we still had time to go to the beach! Thank you very much for making plus size shopping so easy! Totally worth the drive!

I've felt awkward in malls checking out their stuff (since I was seriously in the market for a bag) so this store had a friendlier atmosphere. I'm not going to pay $300 for a bag. Some of the bags in the factory store were much more affordable and the day I went (a few days after Christmas) they were doing an additional 50% off everything. Nice! I still walked out without a purchase, but I would recommend the store.

This time I struck out and didn't find any deals I couldn't live without, but usually, I walk out with something that I end up loving! Some of my better finds here include a merino wool dress that is one of my go-to pieces in the winter as well as merino wool cardies in black (of course) and turquoise which stay with me at all times since I don't think I'm truly warm until it reaches 80 degrees. I've also found some pretty good non-clothing items here too. My passport was starting to look like it had been dragged through the mud when voila! There at the Banana Republic outlet there were leather passport covers for $15. A lot better than the $100 I had been seeing at some stores. I picked up one in brown with green trim for a present and a maroon and black one for me. I also got my business card case here. Its this really cool contraption with elastic straps instead of pockets that I have received more compliments on than I can count!

I made a huge mess out of the dressing room, made the sales associate help me the entire time, and upon check out made sure I got all the right prices. I know that I am a little high maintenance so I appreciate it when the staff is patient and kind. The staff here went out of their way to help me. I even accidently bought the wrong size skirt here and the store manager was willing to send it to my house because I lived 1.5hr away. The store manager was great!
