Update from Apr 15, 2025 Review: Wanted to provide an update…read moreon this BEAUTIFUL (not really) LAWN I was sold. I applied Weed Killer twice and wiped out the weeds in the front lawn back in April (ref my last review). I am attaching photos I just took this morning of the front lawn. This has got to be the most wasteful $3,500.00 I have ever spent. Please notice the BEAUTIFUL green weeds that were imported into my lawn with the sod. Rebecca has yet to reach out to me to see about working through the issues with this lawn. She has yet to show up as PROMISED to do any of the Spring work she PROMISED. I would not recommend Get R Green Sod & Landscape for any sod installation projects. However, if she would reach out to discuss trying to get it right I'd be open to delete my reviews.

DUNNELLON, FLORIDA I…read morehired Get R Green Sod & Landscaping to complete a sod installation project in my yard, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The first delivery of sod was of such poor quality (more weeds than sod) the complete shipment was rejected. It took roughly three weeks to receive another load of sod. Although it too was not very good, it wasn't as bad as the first, and the load was accepted. However, as it was being put down it was discovered the quality of sod provided was markedly subpar. The grass was patchy and full of weeds, clearly not of the standard expected for a professional service. A third of the grass was Bahia (contracted type) and the remaining two thirds Bermuda, one of the most aggressive varieties there are and NOT what was requested or wanted. It was also evident that the sod was not properly cut and stacked before delivery, resulting in numerous issues with laying. Instead of the sod being cut in rectangles and stacked on the skid, it was multiple small pieces and bits of sod stacked on a skid. Which resulted in the lawns growth and overall appearance looking less than appealing. Due to the first load being rejected and the schedule being messed up, Rebecca made the decision to allow the sod vendor to provide a team to lay the sod. The vendors hired to lay the sod exhibited a lack of skill and attention to detail. The installation was poorly executed, with uneven patches and gaps throughout the yard. Their workmanship was clearly inadequate, and it was apparent that they were not well-trained or experienced in sod installation. At the end of the day, it was discovered there wouldn't be enough sod to complete the job. That meant another day and another delivery. The vendor made a third delivery of three more skids of sod to complete and repair some of the areas. Unfortunately, there were more areas needing attention then they had sod to repair them with. But they ended up being short a skid which resulted in a fourth delivery. Despite bringing my concerns to Rebecca, the response was everything would be okay and that she would return in November to fill the ruts and kill the weeds. She did return in November but only to spread dry weed killer on the lawn which ended up not killing any of the weeds. She promised she would also bring dirt to fill the ruts which she failed to do. Rebecca swore she would return in the Spring of 2025 to spray a weed pre-emergence on the lawn to kill the weeds, spread 50 pounds of grass seed and correct the lawn as necessary. In conclusion, I would not recommend Get R Green Sod & Landscape for any sod installation projects. The combination of low-quality sod and unskilled labor resulted in a disappointing outcome that required additional time and resources to rectify. There has been no effort to address the issues or provide any form of compensation for the poor service rendered. Save yourself the trouble and seek a reputable contractor who values quality and customer satisfaction.

I have used Bush Home Services for a while now, and they seemed to do an alright job initially…read more However, I am currently paying $131, and they can't even seem to kill the weeds. When I called to address this issue, they had the owner call me back. Instead of offering a real solution, he just brushed me off and claimed the St. Augustine grass would eventually overcome it. Today, I looked over my yard and the spurge weeds have completely doubled, growing right over the top of the grass, plus there are probably 3 or 4 other types of weeds taking over. For the owner of a company to call a client and brush them off like that--without even sending someone out to look at the lawn--is totally unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this company at all. I imagine they have a lot of satisfied customers, but once you start having actual issues like mine, expect to get the same song and dance. I feel they should refund the money I paid them for that month of weed control. Other companies, like TruGreen, charge a lot less and will actually come out at no charge to respray if the weeds aren't taken care of. As far as I'm concerned, Bush is overcharging for poor service. A Quick Tip on Spurge Spurge is notoriously aggressive in Florida heat once it gets a foothold, especially if a lawn service misses a treatment window or uses a weak blanket spray. Since it spreads via a thick taproot and throws out thousands of seeds, it rarely just "gets choked out" by St. Augustine on its own without a proper post-emergent herbicide (like Fahrenheit or a high-quality atrazine blend) applied at the right temperature.
