They did an adequate job. Arrived on time and honoured the original estimate. But the 2 workers that showed-up at my home tried to "scare me" into buying additional services outside of the quote and that the owner never talked to me about. The truly horrifying aspect of dealing with this company is that they are buying positive reviews. Paying customers - "Enjoy $ 5.00 off (for 3 reviews - up to $15 off in total) this invoice for every positive review you leave online to either Google, Houzz, Homestars or Facebook.". Last summer, I needed to replace my eaves troughs and fascia. I got 3 estimates and all were about the same price but I was most impressed with the advice I got from Pierce of Tip Top Trough. He and Myriam, who runs the office, saw to it that my job was fitted in as soon as possible which I appreciated. The workers were very polite and diligent. There was a scuff mark on one section fascia and they replaced it without any argument. Don't waste your time. I contacted Tip Top Trough July 11 and it took them weeks to set up an appointment (July 25). On the day of the appointment I took time off work to meet with Pierce based on a 4 hour window (10-2). Despite being home the entire time, Pierce never showed. I called Myriam and she explained that he had come to our house, knocked on the door and no one had answered. What is interesting is that I have a fully functional door bell (happily tested by Jehovah's Witnesses that very morning within the 4 hr window) and the company also has my phone number. Astounds me that Pierce "showed up" and left without even trying to either ring the doorbell or call me. Their customer service skills are non-existent. read more

She communicated clearly about when they would come. When a change had to be made, she notified me immediately and was quick to reschedule. Tip Top Trough was hired to replace the gutters on my semi-detatched house, install a leaf guard system on my house and my neighbour's house and replace my downspouts with new 3" pieces. The leaf guard system to be installed on my house was supposed to be a different from my neighbours as it was a new gutter installation (according to the company that makes the leaf guard product, the kind I had ordered was more robust than the retro-fit product to be used on my neighbour's side). While I did receive a nice new gutter, the company installed the same leaf guard system on both houses (even though the estimate and invoice clearly state they are different products) without my prior knowledge or consent. And, what was installed was not done properly as it was not attached to the fascia board. Furthermore, my old downspouts were reused and where they were reattached to the new gutter, there was a small hole at one of the connections that was bound to leak. I only discovered these deficiencies after I crawled out the second story window onto my roof to check the job. When I contacted the company about my concerns they did apologize and agreed to come back and correct the problems. They also offered me a 10% discount on the cost of the work. Other than telling me why the leaf guard product they did install was the best product for me, I do not feel that I received a reasonable explanation for the change. The installers that came out were friendly and accommodating and fixed the problems. However, from what I have seen, when installing the leaf guard system to the fascia of the house they only placed screws at the ends of the 3ft pieces and did not secure it in the middle. This negatively impacts the ability of the leaf guard system to withstand weight from above (snow, ice, debris). The invoice that I received following the corrections did not include the 10% discount previously offered. When I pointed out this issue the company did resend the bill with the corrected cost. While I understand misunderstandings in communication can occur, the number of issues I experienced and the level of care taken with the installations have been disappointing to say the least. read more
